this is my little 106.

its completly stock... boring!
so im buying some wheel trims the same style as the ones that are on it and im going to spray them. i have the choice of black, white and a very small amount of ford olympic blue.
vote for your favourite and when they get here i'll paint them the colour that has the most votes.
also if you have another idea i could do. post it up.
Vote away!!!!!

^^ thats cool but it wouldnt look like that cause its still the stock wheel trims. i quite like the black with blue think i could do it like ken block. the white with the orange spoke with DC on it, could do that but black with blue??
Helmasaur King
Oct 8 2011, 08:19 PM
don't put DC, just do blue
maybe do a white spoke, or a black spoke. I don't know if blue would fit with your car's body color

got to tell insurance about every little thing so they can make you pay more so your "protected" if you crash... but wheel colour they dont give two hoots about. if i changed the trim to a different style that cost what £30 then my insurance would go up

Oct 8 2011, 11:29 PM
damn, here the insurance makes no problems about that, if the car passes the checkup they will cover you
as I am driving atm (to low and stretch) they won't cover me...

Ditch the wheel covers and paint the steelies if you are going to do that. Painting wheel covers just seems lame.
BTW, nice car. I love 106's

cant really paint the steelies and i like the design of the trims. hopefully they'll be here tomorrow

Oct 10 2011, 06:37 PM
what you could do is get a set of 16" covers and make them fit on your steelies, its perfectly possible with glue =p
the stigster
Oct 10 2011, 06:40 PM
lol glue them to the tyre and zip ties

You can paint anything. Clean them off really good, sand, primer, paint, clear. Done. If you don't want it to be permanent, you can use plasti-dip as a primer.
http://www.plastidip.com/http://9glancers.com/index.php?topic=7104.0It peels right off. Its what I used to paint the front of my lancer and my chrome wheel arch trim black.

You can change the trim to whatever you want, that just counts as maintenance. As do other things like upgrading suspension and stuff like that. Or just buy some peugeot alloys and they won't know the difference.

Oct 12 2011, 09:08 PM
true, but it would look a bit dodgy if the police pulled me over and asked why my car was slammed and i said maintenance... doesnt really matter i cant heavy modifiy it because my sisters having it after me. so i got to save for a my own car then i can mod the hell out of it.

Wow.. so scared to mod and tell insurance.. You play it WAY too safe man, just saying I've driven a modified car or two for a while now without declaring a few mods and thankfully haven't got in any trouble for it, its all about doing subtle mods man.. and don't paint trims its a waste of time tbh.. they're plastic trims. it'll just look ghetto as f*ck.. opinions though. I'd paint the steelies.

atm i dont really care if i paint the trims or let the air out my fricking tyres im sick of driving at the limit cause of my insurance and i would love to have a project car as this has to stay stock, mechanical wise, no matter what it is. its a massive kick in the teeth.

What insurance company are you with mate? Co-Op (not the young drivers tracker bull, but the normal company) is brilliant for drivers of our age..

sand down the steelies, paint 'em white and when you can afford the insurance, throw the car to the floor.
Helmasaur King
Oct 16 2011, 10:07 PM
dont do that, you might break it

Oct 16 2011, 10:12 PM
@ shafz - i got the co-op tracker one

my mums the main driver and im a named. im paying for it each month so its costing me £57 a month. which for a first car 17 year old is pretty good. my mate at college has a 1.6 old BMW 3 series (i think) and hes paying £160
@ i wish i could but the car has to stay stock.....
UPDATE!!!!!
my car is modding itself!
you hear/see correctly!! i've just got back from work and the closer to home i got the louder my exhaust got. im pretty sure i have a hole just before the CAT. well put it this way sounds like i got straight pipes and im driving at the limit and sensibly

its awesome.... just hope i dont get pulled for it being to loud, as i cant afford to get it fixed and i need it wednesday to go to college.

So you're about 80 miles from me, I'm Northampton, or if you're like most of the UK and don't know where that is, about 20 miles South of Milton Keynes.
If you find a half-way spot, I'll gladly come down and give you a hand playing with it in a manor that doesn't affect your insurance
