Speedhunters is like mcdonalds, and the other car blogs are like those independent burger small shops, speedhunters is destroying the opportunity for other blogs, not everyone has the money for covering all those evnts

It's not the fact that they just found any old ae86. It's that they found one that literally has all the original factory parts, untouched as it would have been in the showroom at the dealership back then and has only 48km ever driven on it.
there are people out there that would pay big money to get ahold of a car like this.
Madset.

just to do it up lol

Aug 8 2011, 01:07 AM
lol. no. the people that would be interested in buying this would preserve it just the way it is. The owner wouldn't let someone buy it if their intentions are to make it another ae86 drifter. Besides, most of them couldn't afford to buy it. When it does get sold, it will probably go to a big time car collector, not a racer.

stockish ones with lots of KMs go for about 10k here, so I'd think it'd be in the higher range of that.

Levins and Truenos are both famous

Mint conditioned Chevelles and Camaros go for ~50k here, so I guess 30-100k range is actually accurate for the levin

That, worth 30-100k? What the f**k currency do you use? Yen?
You'd be looking $20k absolute end-of-argument tops, it's not a rare car by any means, just because it's clean and (very) low mileage, means f**k all, it's not a landmark car, it's cheaply built in a time where it was meant to look nice and "futuristic" but get you from A to B without being labour intensive at all. As much as I like the car, they're pieces of s**t and if it went for anything about $20,000 the buyer needs his face blowing off with a pump action.

http://australianmusclecarsales.com.au/mus...-xy-gtho-p3-forhandels well, powerfull, iconic australian muscle car, the same model was used in racing for years. rare these days in good nick
what makes it so special? nothing really lol apart from the fact that its rare theres nothing that really makes it with 750k. cars at the end of the day are worth what someone will pay for them. 10 years ago that car wouldhave bin bought for under 20k in the same condition. these days 250+ will get you into one depending on extras and condition etc etc. just cos one person thought ill buy that for x amount. and now there worth as much as a house.
if a rich asian bloke wants to buy that car for a million dollars cos he had one as a 1st car then boom all of a sudden the prices for them will rise. what its worth and what someone will pay are 2 different things. in scrap metal its prolly with a few hundred bucks lol. to someone it may be worth a million who knows.

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...7&silo=1011This guy is selling some AE86 hatch for 30k... Maybe it will have to go down a lot before it gets bought. Though it is one of 400 made of that edition and the plates are supposedly worth 5k o_O
Pinkie is right, about the willing to pay... Not many people will be willing to pay 30k for that car, some person might.
