So yeah, basically I passed my test and I'm now the official owner of my mum's 5 door 1998 Ford Fiesta Finesse, which gets around 70 BHP and the quickest I've got was 75 MPH in it (Didn't even get me laid, what a waste of petrol).
Anyways, so far the car is pretty stock. And by pretty, I mean completely 100%. I put Kobe and LeBron jerseys over the seats cuz I thought it would be cool, but it looks tacky and they're coming off as soon as it stops raining (I don't want to get them wet). I will update with a pic in a second. I allready have a couple of plans As soon as I can be bothered, the hubcaps are coming off and I'm rolling on steelies. Hubcaps look plastic and super-duper tacky, and I have a big fat tube of metal polish so steelies it will be. I'm also getting a girl to "lend" me a thong to put over the RV mirror instead of the Sainsbury's Car Insurance air freshener that is there now (Not even with Sainsbury's, WTF!) but I need more plans. Any suggestions or compliments are most welcome. Has to be cheap (I'm broke and about to get broker since I'm off to uni next year) and look cool (No uncoloured wide-body kits, no altezzas, etc.) Discuss my whip, give me suggestions, compliment me on my pride and joy, or congratulate me for passing my test. Preferably all 4... gizzo. |

Resident Ford Fag at your service sir.
Check out Fiestaguides.co.uk, they've got a s**t load of info on fiesta's which will come in handy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) What colour is the car? As that can make a big difference as to what works and what don't. If you can stretch to subtle expenses, i'd hit up Halfords for their wheel trims, they've got some tasty com. TH lookalikes for about £20. Cool stuff you can do for cheap/free include de-striping/badging, colour coding, light tinting etc. if you have a scrappers nearby, see if you can find a mk5 zs, as the tailgate (with spoiler) will bolt straight onto your car. Anything else i can help with? |

This car (this one isn't mine, but the exact same colour/everything, just my car has 2 more doors). I will de-badge it, what's the safest way to do it? I don't want to scratch it up. Also thanx for the link |

Literally use your fingers to pull em off, then t-cut any residue away.
or you could slide an old credit card or something like it underneath and pull up, just work your way through it. Colour code bumpers too! |

Yeah I really want colour coded bumpers, but I don't know how much they will be and I'm literally broke at the minute ha.
Fair enough, I'll make a trip to halfords and pick up some t-cut tommorow if I have time. Thanks |

NO! the fiesta's paint is hella weak, grab a hairdryer, and heat up the glue, then use an old credit card or fishing line to prise the badges away. as long as you're gentle, it'll be fine. the biggest pita is getting the residue off afterwards, so you'll need to find some tar-remover for that

Damn it, I was gonna buy some tar remover today and just offer it to smokers as a joke, but then I bought metal polish instead for when I take the hubcaps off.
Can I take the badges off and wait a couple days before I use the tar-remover? Will that make a difference? I don't get paid till friday ha |

While you're at it pick up a few tins of ford Pepper Red and laquer and give it a go yourself!
And a red ford badge would be cool. or a black one. They're always good. This post has been edited by The Dude: Oct 29 2011, 08:02 PM |

it doesn't matter how long, just let the tar remover soak in, it should start to run, as its pretty strong stuff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

don't listen to him, your premium will sky rocket, if you even get insured. on the flipside, if you don't declare it, you're in a whole heap of s**t if something goes wrong

30-40 minutes of sanding, cleaning and polishing and this is the result, more rust than I've ever seen
(IMG:http://i43.tinypic.com/2cpaopc.jpg) (IMG:http://i42.tinypic.com/jzad78.jpg) (IMG:http://i40.tinypic.com/25iwxlg.jpg) not sure if it's worth it, might just put the hubcaps back on and call it a day |
