if you are buying an impreza or an evo, buy a wagon, I might be possible that it will be in better condition because it won't be abused by boyracers

the 04 impreza is nice but the 02-03 is cheaper with the same powertrain and probably about the same condition. just food for thought. also a legacy outback from 01-03 has the same powertrain and won't be beat on.

I stand behind the impreza 110%
As an owner of one they are fun and easy to drive.
I agree with the wagon comment but you can easily find a non turbo one and convert it to turbo with stock parts from someone whos done a turbo upgrade.
plus they are super reliable.

Also if its in your area, NC and other blueridge/wolf ridge states have an abundance of Subarus. That'd be a great place to look.

thanks for the feedback, my only concern with the imprezas, is theyd take up all my money, and since i do want to work on the car, it might be a bit harder to get the parts in good condition.

get a impreza that's pretty well used so you can work on it simply and it wont suck up your budget?

problem is that looking for your first car you wont get what you exactly want, you just gotta hunt, and see what pops up and take the risk

oggy did ahahha and look where he ended up?

Don't get a Civic please.

I have a friend that owns one, and so far he told me that in 2 years of ownership, he has already wasted 10k dollars on wheels because they keep poping up on him, and he has had some several problems. Why not a Corolla? Or an old Lancer too?

Spent 10K on wheels and blames the car? You friend isn't too bright.
There isn't even any significant connection between a car and the tires popping.

If you have extremely costly repairs with a civic, you are doing something wrong.
