Hello all, to all hello (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile2.gif)

i wanna know what you guys think of air ride and static drops,

Air Ride
I think its perfect for every day driving and then the stanced cruising and for shows but loads of people say air ride is for p***ys

Static
yea its cool to have a static drop its cheaper and looks awesome, but its not practical at least no where i live with the rubbish roads, yet people still use it.

thats my opinion on both, and i think when i get the chance i'll be going for air ride just seems more sensible.

anywho over to you guys to post your opinions on both of just one.

many thanks

bags are for groceries

honestly i prefer static, there should be a "Sucks to Roll Hard" Declaration anyone wanting to get a static drop must sign;

"-I will take 'JDM angles' upon approaching any speedbump or driveway
-I will shout 'YEEAAAH' upon any bottom-out resulting in sparks going over 40mph
-I understand that oilpans are merely an inconvenience
-I will treat each lane marker as a target
-I will Stay Classy at all times, failure to do so results in being known as a 'hipster faggot'
etc etc."

Rio's my man. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/toothygrin.gif)

although Air is nice, and looks good on certain cars, i prefer the HARDCORE way of drive.

AND THAT THE REASON I DON'T DRIVE VW!
they always put air in their ride, i see less Opels with it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I like how the only people backing up static are the ones without cars. lol

Just go coilovers. They are usually adjustable by at least an inch.

IMO
Air is good for cars that cost way to much to scrape with them, like NEW cars, cars that are restored like stripped till the last bolt and restored in new shape, or just people that like air for it's simplicity.
I am one of those, i love driving on coils, but if i come in a place i don't know the road, and the road is crap or the speedbumps are way to high for the car (been there) it would be easy to raise the car 5cm more to keep it safe...

But it all depends on what car it is and who drives with it and when...

If i would have the chance to put air on the golf, i would do it, but it's not legal in Belgium, yet!!

AHUM!?!?

but now i'm confused: Static is only with coilovers, right? or is that with springs?

caus i have a coilover set, and i like it.
want to make it lower, but want to find all the other s**t first, to know how low i can gow. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/toung.gif)

but like i said, airride is nice on certain cars.
like Ivan said, on the new cars it looks nice, and on the real showrides, that have no original thing left, and so. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Air.

Static is cool 'n stuff, but not everyone can take the extra financial risk of your car breaking down?

Also, i noticed: the people that say f**k air, switches are for bitches, ... are those that cant afford air or are jealous on those that have air, real life experiences (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

indeed i can't afford air, and if i could, i would spend it on other things, like a full bodykit, or a new paintjob.

but the bottom line is: everyone has their taste. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I would take the air before the paintjob
A fresh paint can cost more than air you know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

but it looks dumb if you have an ride with air, and your paint is f**ked with small scratches and paintchips. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
that is the downside of most tuning: that people do the nicest things, but just do it in the wrong order.
i bought a lowering, before wheels. i see more people drive in 4x4, with the nicest rims. that is what i don't like. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I like both. I PREFER static, however.

air is only cool if you roll dumped anyways, if you roll on the daily with wheelgap/4x4 height (more than 2" off the ground) then get the f**k out you poser piece of s**t, you're not cool. Air is also for those who want a decent ride quality (i.e. VIP cars, even though it's still more gangster to roll static with a VIP car)

unox, you've apparently never owned a dumped car. I used to love bottoming out and scraping everywhere, then I realized the whole underside of my car was getting proper f**ked, now I drive like a f**king granny and do my damndest to not bottom out or scrape anymore. also, nobody AIMS for lane dots (at least if you're low enough to break them), we're always trying to miss them, not only because it's f**king uncomfortable to hit them, but the ticket if you get caught smashing them is like $400 for the first and $200 for each succeeding one.

my personal preference is to have the car just low enough to smack (not break) lane dots on the daily, and I can usually drive to work at that height without bottoming out.
