i grw up with hotwheels every where... i was kinda always into cars.. my parents' didn't race but my dad used to have a datsun 510 and 54 chevy pickup that he used to work on before i was born and he used to tell me stories about them. then he bought a 78 cougar and i got to help him with that and then a geo stom and so on and so forth.
although i was never able to really work on cars untill now i have loved them since i was a baby just like every other American baby boy has.

its in my blood, nearly every guy in my family plays around with cars.

i started drawing cars when i was about 3 or 4, i remember watching the world rally championships for the first time, back when colin mcrae and tommi makiden were considered the best in the world at what they did. i remember thinking how cool it was that they launched those cars off some decent jumps, and some of the accidents that happened. people used to run out in front of the cars taking photos madly before jumping out of the way and if a car rolled, the spectators would flip it back on its wheels. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) i've heard you're not allowed to do that now.

i had slot car set, i remember racing all day with it, i don't know what my brother did but his afx pontiac trans-am burst into flame and completed one and a bit laps of the thunderloop thriller. pretty much the shell had definately had it and the motor was no doubt ruined. we put cooking oil on the track later, in corners and stuff, and watched the slot cars drift around. it was pretty cool. i also had an XV-racer from hotwheels. once again with the messing around with my brother and doing something rather dangerous, we hooked the power up to the wall. and i thought my blue camaro z28 was fast before lol. i used to race them at school next to my friends. it sorta got out of hand with 30 plus kids ending up racing them. my best friend's one was a silver NASTruck.

i had a datsun 180b with a sunroof and power windows, sport suspension etc. bought it from the wreckers for 200 bucks, they never thought it would run (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile2.gif) i got it going later that afternoon with s**t i raided from their place. stuff like new alternator, starter motor, locking the diff. etc. i wish i still had it...13b swap would've been cool. but instead i ruined it by paddockbashing. it took forever to die lol, it was great.

i spent most of my life making model cars, and drawing alot of crazy stuff. i went to the willowbank winter nationals, and met my hero, Victor Bray and that legendary castrol '57 chev. watching that thing launch was incredible, i'd never seen anything like it before in my life till then.

I went to summernats, the biggest horsepower event in the southern hemisphere, and possibly the world. and watched guys get into their cars and just keep going until they destroy the tires or the engine. victor bray also went to the summernats in a mat black bumperless '57 chev, that basicallyhad something ungodly under the bonnet that made the earth rotate backwards when ever it accelerated. apparently it ran on methanol and has over 1000hp, which was a huge number to have back then. ford capri's with big blocks were devastating weapons as well, you didn't come by them very easy either.

the bandag bullet was pretty cool as well, with its quad turbo twin supercharged detroit diesel 16v motor. 2 v8's mated to a single crank, and had nitrous injection. 3000hp later and enough torque to push the planet off its axis, this truck became the fastest conventionally powered truck in the world. it does one hell of a burnout.

thats just some of the cars that i've thought of that are somewhat important to me and just inspires me to do some crazy s**t to mine if i ever get the time/chance. i wouldn't mind a vk commodore and put a 2jz in it. not hard to do, just expensive.

My old man I guess..

He used to live in Dubai, where he worked with the finest cars, he used to own an E28, which was new at that time. Then he drove some other cars like a 240Z, Skyline and a Lancer Evo II.. Now we has a E39 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/toothygrin.gif)

Yeah my Jap taste comes from him I guess..

Being totally serious, I believe that certain interests can be passed down through genetics. I reckon my love of cars has been influenced by my dad and the release of Gran Turismo 1 in 1997, some of my earliest memories are playing against my dad on the 2 player battle mode. I think my favourite car when I was just a young 'un was probably a Toyota Supra or Nissan 300ZX.

My dad plays a big part too, my earliest memory of real cars was his gold F-reg (1989) Ford Granada 2.0, my family's always been into Fords, my grandad always used to buy brand new Ford Cortinas every couple of years, and I can vaguely remember his red Mk5 Escort. My dad himself has owned numerous Ford Escorts and a 2.0 Ford Capri. He's also owned a 13B Mazda RX-7 Convertible, and a 5.7l Cadillac Eldorado, among others, unfortunately these were all before I was around. More recently though he's owned a Ford Mondeo Mk2 ST24, with the 2.5 V6 Duratec, that was a fantastic car.

Unforunately now he drives a Citroen but hopefully I'm gonna get him to buy a Ford Escort RS Turbo when it comes to trading it in in a couple of years' time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/toothygrin.gif)
