Well, since this is GOING to be the car I'm getting (I've already decided 100%, and I'm in the process of looking for one in good condition thats fairly cheap), a 240SX hatchback. If everything goes as planned, I'll have it by the end of the year. I'm getting a job over the summer, and possibly running odd jobs and errands as well, until the next school year, which I'll just keep my regular job. I figure that'll get me about $2000 or so (maybe a bit less, I haven't done the math 100% yet) which I can drop on a cheap one.

Again, this is pretty much what I drive, because I know for a fact I'm getting one, unless something happens and they all disappear of the face of the earth. So don't be flaming me just because I don't have it yet. CAUSE I WILL *dun dun dun!*

Posted by: Corey Feb 6 2006, 11:28 PM

Might as well, After I find a job and raked in some good (HAH!) money, I will be buying a Fox Body Coupe, probaly NOT a 5.0, just a V6 for good gas milage and it will be cheaper to buy. Then I will start tearing out the interiour, add a roll cage and stiffen the chassis, then suspension and brakes. then the drivetrain. Then some SmallBlack V8...

thats like my 10year project hahaha, I want to road race it though...

My dad had a fox body that we got rid of two years ago, he said that if he wasn't able to sell it, we were gonna strip it, put in a cage and whatnot, and race it on the weekends up at Mid Ohio. That car was great... and loud.

Posted by: Batsu Feb 6 2006, 11:41 PM

I don't have any pictures right now, because my dad decided to return my camera due to the fact that he did not like it. I can show you pictures of the same thing, though.

I've got a 93 Nissan 240SX. Completely stock except the air freshener. If you're dumb and need pictures, this is what a 240 looks like.

And I also often drive my dad's Diamante, and again I do not have pictures of it, so I'll just show you this neat one with a nice front lip. VR4!

Mod lists will occupy these sorts of posts in the future!

if you can prove me wrong please do so
pretty much i'm weary over people who say they have nice cars, i say back up with more pics or engine shots? or somehow prove it's yours. i had to post a pic of my car in a certain position over on ebaums to get people to believe me

Dude, I was just joking around. You don't have to be such a prick all the time. And technically, it is modded. Those parts didn't come from the Buick factory did they?

Yeah, the car is real fun to drive. Quick and sort of luxurious, which is how I really like it. They are FF, unfortunately. The VR-4 Galants are pretty damn sick. They are AWD, which is pretty damn sick, too. I've heard about Galant GSXs out there, too. Though I've honestly never seen one.

i'm guessing both the gsx and vr-4 versions are strictly over-seas... and taking a guess based on the eclipse i'd say the gsx might be a single turbo awd version

i'm honestly loving the vr-4 galant more and more, i've been looking into it, it's be a great car to have, it's a sedan, so you got a good deal of room, which is the only problem with my car... it's not the 2+2 version so i can only hold me and one person... and the vr-4 is pretty fast stock, it's no M5 off the line, but with some mods i'm betting it could be pretty damn fast, not to mention it weighs less than the 3000gt vr-4... which is so heavy it nearly ruined the cars performance

Posted by: Ten. Feb 9 2006, 12:10 PM

I have to ask you, Nizzy, why would/should i care weither you belived me or not? Its a car ffs.

Now, draw a picture or a note of somesort of something PCA related with it and take a picture of your car with the note on it.

Sweet Kouki, I saw one exactly like this (even that red!) last Saturday, awesome looking car.

Posted by: tigerx Feb 10 2006, 03:29 AM

easiest way to prove the car is yours, post a custom picture. put the car manual on the hood and take a picture. ppl do this on a different forum ( a very big forum) and it's a proven way to prove you own the car.

rofl, jason has the same magnaflow can on his lancer as ive got on my altima! luckily i have an injen cold air intake, so the exhaust doesnt sound like a pissed off bumble bee going down the road, just sounds like a v6 instead of a 4 banger.

my car: 2000 Nissan Altima GXE
mods (that work):
injen CAI
magnaflow can
eagle 16" forged rims w/michelin rubber
infinity 10" sub
silvania silver star headlight bulbs

mods (that DONT work):
stupid kenwood in-dash cd player that quit last week dry.gif

dont have any pics with me, but ill put them on my thumb drive and post them up later.

I love my muffler, it sounds great, especially when the car warms up.

OH NOES

Yesterday while washing my Ralliart i discovered a scratch that is around 8 inches long right above the wheel well on the drivers side fender that goes down to the primer... the scratch is longer, but around 8 inches has actually went through the paint... I will have to take her to a body shop in the spring to have the scratch rapaired because it looks horrible. It looks as if something or someone rubbed against the fender, or even maybe took a key to her... I also have some scratches under the passangers side front bumper lip, where i scraped turning around in our driveway before it was paved that i want repaired.

Posted by: Corey Feb 16 2006, 04:52 AM

Thats a shame about the scratch, some people are just asswholes huh.

Posted by: BudweiserJason8 Feb 16 2006, 05:00 AM

Yes, everytime i see the scratch i get very upset because i know it is going to cost some $$$ to repair and the worst part is that it is just this little thing, but it takes a lot more effort to repair it then it would actual body damage... because paiting such little spots requires everything to be perfect...

Posted by: Corey Feb 16 2006, 05:11 AM

Mabey save up some more (Keymaks) scratches before you go off and fix the one?

But I understand how ugly scratches are...

Posted by: SVT Feb 17 2006, 03:40 PM

if you want a quick cheap fix that works, go get some finger nail polish that matches the paint. itll protect the metal til you can get it repainted and wont look as bad either. and i was wrong, my can dont look like yours, mine is silver and way huger than that, lol. matter of fact, i think when i get some money, that's the can im gonna get. i have almost no torque cuz mine is so huge.

the motor mounts were moved back and a lot of welding had to be done which results in a "stretched" look. if i had another bike i probly would.

Yeah go with stock headlights and amber corners. I hate aftermarket headlights.

As you all know I have a 95 Civic EX sedan.

I don't have new pics, it's dirty because of winter. The foglights are yellow now and the pinstripe is gone.

Exciting JDM mods!:

92-95 Si wheelcovers
Dispatch bumper sticker
yellow Foglights
Kenwood front speakers
polished "VTEC" and other lettering on valve cover
repainted windshield wipers satin black (they were all worn, they're not supposed to be silver)
Penn State rear windshield sticker

I know, it's sad, I've had it for almost a year now and that's all I've done. Next I want Vision amber corners and a JDM SiR front lip. I don't know if I want a JDM Sir rear wing yet.

1989 Pontiac Bonneville with a little over 120,000miles on the clock. Pretty damn good for how old it is. Runs DAMN STRONG. My dad's getting his new company car (2006 Chevrolet Impala LS) and we're considering buying his old one to keep (2003 Ford Taurus) which would make it something I'd be allowed to drive. I'm in the market for a 1st gen Miata so the Bonneville probaly won't be here come next summer, and a little roadster would be in it's place in the driveway. We're working up a nice collection of automobiles.

2006 Chevy Imapala (on it's way)
2003 Ford Taurus
1999 Ford Windstar
1999 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6E
1989 Pontiac Bonneville

19-- Mazda MX-5 Miata (on it's way I hope)
Bolded are the cars/bikes we already have

Ya'll probably saw it in the other topics but here it is agin -

1986 Audi 80 Sport.

Posted by: eightsixdrifter Mar 8 2006, 08:33 PM

I'm planning on a 1.6L Miata for sake of lower price, and 1994 was when the 1.8L was replaced the 1.6. I'll probably aim for a something younger than a '91 because everything before that except the 2nd half '91s had a shortnose crank problem, but I could solve that with a few options...
-A later model crank
-A lower mileage 1.6 or
-A bigger, better 1.8!

Main plans for modifications to it would be hardtop, front lip, basic motor work, KYB AGX adjustable suspension w/ some sportier springs, M-Edition BBS wheels, strut tower bar, sway bars, simple roll bars (probably the over the seat hoops) maybe just style bars since I don't plan on competing in Spec Miata right away, Moss lowpro headlamps are a possibility, and corner light intakes. I want it to look a little more aggressive while driving a little more aggressive at the same time. Just want a sporty daily driver, not a track car.

BTW, sexiest Miata EVER- http://www.revlimiter.net

Speaking of R32, my uncle has one of those (Volkswagen, not Nissan), and hes planning on selling it so he can buy a new M5 (yes, he is butt freaking rich). He kind of hinted to me that he might sell it to me, but maybe I'm crazy and only wish he would. It would be rather cool though...

My dad was like, " so, how do you like GTI's," and I'm like speachless, and then out of nowhere, he finds one and buys it.
Yes, James, any car with OZ's stock is awesome, and about the r32 aero, I don't think I'll be doing that, even though it does look pretty nice, I like the 20th anniversary lip and rear valance a bit more.

Remove those bars in the intakes then, nothing says "ugly aero" like those bars. It would look 10x more badass. But keep the ones on the lip.

Posted by: Drifticon Mar 25 2006, 12:01 AM

Most of you already know what I drive, but for those who dont know...

I drive a 93' 240sx coupe a.k.a. one-via.

Not a whole lot of mods, only because reality, part-time job means bills consume most of your money.

Berfore PCF shut down My car sat with some basic mods. Tein coilover system, Tein tie rods, Apex N1 cat-back, KAAZ LSD, and an SR20DET powerplant to back it. Then at a small drift event here in NC put the car into a ditch on the side of the lot. The small crash only knocked the bumper a little out of alignment, and was easily fixed.

about 3 months ago a guy asked if I would sell him the car, and offered me 3k for it (not knowing what all was in it, he thought it was bone stock with some springs). So getting a quick idea and making some extra dough, I jerked the motor put the KA24DE back in it, pulled the sespension, the cat-back,and the LSD. put the old "fabricated cat-back" with an ebay muffler back on. Sold the parts and made a nice chunck of change, spent it all elsewhere (strip clubs, new tv (flatscreen bitches), new cell phone, bills, girlfriend, etc...) about two weeks after all that stuff was pulled, and most of it sold, the guy loses his job and can no longer buy the car. So what I spent almost 2 years pinching pennies and hours of work on the little mods I had, was gone and now I'm pretty much back to stock. sad.gif

so here is what she is looking like now...

Posted by: Stan Mar 26 2006, 10:26 PM

s14 wrecked sold to some kid that gave up 4k for it then bought the 240

Posted by: Ryan Mar 26 2006, 10:30 PM

That is not what i asked lol, i wanted to know how YOU earned enough money to build both of those cars while going to school?

Posted by: broke Mar 27 2006, 11:34 PM

by front end, i suppose you mean the 4 round headlights. no prob, i get that a lot. they actually put out the 4 round headlights (the japanese call 'em "yon-maru-me inte" aka 4 round eyes Integra) from 93-95. mine's a 93. that's another thing as well, i used to go by the monicker 93DC2 just to stir up the pot--the yonmarume integra wasn't introduced to the states til '94.hehehehee

This is The OFFICIAL "what do you drive" topic, not what you plan on driving topic...

I hope you have a lot of money to buy all these parts a long with the car itself.

I've already gone through and found prices for each and every part I want. Grand total for aftermarket pieces including the hardtop (which I made a guestimate of around $970) and it came out to be ~$2,500 give or take. The car itself I'm looking for something $4,000 max, which is very reasonable. Miata's aren't expensive to have fun with.

He wants to turbo the KA, why? C'mon who doesn't want those extra .4 liters of displacement? And why wouldn't you want those weak rods and pistons that come with it. High revs are overrated, 6500 rpm what a KA-T has to offer. Slap on that turbo kit boost 4lbs and hope to god everything doesn't blow up.

you're right, KA-T or SR at least

I was being sarcastic, the KA isn't a bad motor.....for daily driving with no mods. But if you a boost nut SR, RB, of the CA18DET even, just don't turbo the KA you'll just be wasting money. Yeah sure people have built KA's to handle boost, but the only reason is because they are COMPANY SPONSORED cars, and have the money to build the motor to handle the abuse.

Not entirely true, a turbo KA is a waste of time and money. Only because it wont last like most other turbo'd cars.

Adam, mods are coming, theyd come faster if you would pay for them, feel free to send me money.

Posted by: BudweiserJason8 Mar 28 2006, 08:52 PM

Putting forced induction on a car that didnt come with any is not a good idea, mainly because you are pushing the stock components to their limits, get the new pistons ready because the engine wont last as long as it should.

Im pushing the stock KA internals to 7psi.
Ive done my research, its capable of 7psi, even more, but thats going to wear very quickly, and once I get used to driving the turbo car, ill upp the boost and upgrade the internals while saving up money the whole time.
Sr's are good motors, just overrated these days, all the ricer guys are always asking me if I have the SR. Sr's are good top speed motors, while KA's produce more torque, you can boost your ka, full custom turbo set-up for less than the price of a Sr20 swap. its the cheaper route, AND you free up more hp than a Sr comes with stock. Ka-T is the way to go.

Posted by: BudweiserJason8 Mar 29 2006, 03:00 AM

Im glad someone else agrees that engine swaps are over-rated.

My 1988 Chrysler Conquest TSi boosts 8psi stock and it has roughly 126,000 miles on the stock engine and turbo. If she ever dies the engine will be built up and a new turbo with bigger boost will be put in.

My new baby.
1966 Chevy Biscayne. 250 cubic inch Turbo Thrift Inline 6 (NO ITS NOT TURBO). 3 Speed on the column.
All original (obviously) except the gay Luxor wire wheels on it (They're like 1983's, lol).
110,000 original miles, PERFECT running order. Only thing bad on the car is the window seals/weather stripping and the carpet.

To my suprise, when I was digging all the trash out of the trunk, I realized I have the original spare tire, original bumper jack, original lug wrench. Also, in the glove box I found the owners manual, the owner/driver insurance plan, the OEM options sheet, the damn ORIGINAL KEYS in EXCELLENT condition (Not something you see today). I've got the original rims in the garage, just don't have any tires to put on them at the moment. Plans for the car is a full restroration with a hint of modern technology. Proof shots available (Weather pending)

-no time slips cuz drag racing isn't my sport (besides, there's no actual zero-yon drag strips out here in okinawa anyway. the longest--and only--track is 150 meters!). i agree with the FR guys who say that drag racing isn't really a sport for FF cars. drag racing throws all the car's weight off an FFs "power wheels". yeah sure, there's guys who do good with dragging ff cars, but it isn't a sport where ff shines.

-no dyno sheet, cuz i'm not finished with her yet. i picked up some free 440cc injectors from a GTR, but my stock injector grommets are too small. i either have to pick up some that will fit the GTRs, or dremmel-out my stock grommets. after that is done, then i can tune my Hondata CPU/turbo/etc. but being a new dad, it's hard finding time to get anything done, lol.
