Oh for sure. BTW, does PBM make coilover kits for this car? Or is it running S13 s**t? As far as i can remember hardly any companies make rear coils for Corollas.

Pretty sweet since most other options have a separate spring and strut. The PBM's are a true coil over. Anyway picked up the car Saturday as planned. It went really well. I used my Dad's Forester to tow it the 800 miles back. He has the N/A 2.0 with 170 ft lbs of torque... I basically had to will it up each and every minor incline we came across. I thought I was going to get stuck on the side of the highway halfway up a hill. Besides that, everything went great. I'm am back at school now (left the car at my parents while I sort the registration and inspection). EDIT: And yes that f**king uhaul trailer is as wide as it looks. Basically a miracle I din't side swipe anything especially after Apple maps repeatedly led me into densely populated areas.... one time in NYC I was on the highway heading towards GWB. It told me to get off, so I did. After getting off it tells me my next move was to merge onto the highway i just left... trouble was the connecting road was closed, I got detoured into a tightly packed residential district. Then the construction worker stopped me to let other people go (blocked off intersection)... only problem was he stopped me on the f**king steepest hill on the east coast (now would be a good time to tell you my Dad's subi is a manual). No idea how the clutch didn't just spontaneously combust. Thank god for subaru's hill holder clutch or the New Yorker that insisted on pulling up super close behind me would have gotten an AE86 in his face. The only downside is that the car had an upgraded 1 piece driveshaft so I had to drain the transmission fluid as well... just another thing I have to take care of before I can get it back on the road. Almost everywhere I pulled into there was who someone came over to ask me something about the car. Even some of my sisters friends who were over the house LOVED the car. (I honestly assumed high school girls would see it just as an old ratty economy car). Not that I really care about any of this; I bought the car because I love it. It's just been a pleasant surprise that so many others love it too. As for pictures, unfortunately my SD card for my DSLR went through the laundry so no pics for a little while at least. What I will tell you is that when I started the car for my father, the driver of car with a similar power plant, I honestly think he shat himself. The car has a Buddy Club spec II, so first of all its loud, but it has a really nice tone. It also has ITBs with huge velocity stacks. The induction noise is insane. You all should probably have a good idea of what it is running by now. Did you really think someone like me would stray to far from what defined the AE86 from the factory? I still think it's special because it a really well done swap. Goddamn I need to get it registered and on the road... just writing this makes me so happy and anxious. |

Nawwwww 20V Blacktop. The F20 is great but the 86 needs a 4age just like an Rx7 needs a rotary.
(Although I will conceed that the F20 in an 86 makes a lot more sense to me than a V8 in an RX.) |

Packing a 20v with ITBs? hell yes the only thing better would be a factory trd tuned 4agze. I'm glad you think the 4A belongs in the 86. It such a great little motor.
and glad to here about the tranny haha I was just curious. I had to haul an oldsmobile 442 the same way and the thing was so heavy it made our truck slide. congrats again. I am insanely jealous and hope to join you very soon with my own little 86 dream car |
