its completly stock... boring!

so im buying some wheel trims the same style as the ones that are on it and im going to spray them. i have the choice of black, white and a very small amount of ford olympic blue.

vote for your favourite and when they get here i'll paint them the colour that has the most votes.

also if you have another idea i could do. post it up.

Vote away!!!!!

Very cool, black with blue spoke is cool.

Posted by: uiui Oct 8 2011, 05:39 PM

Make it jdm/hella/drift so put green or red wheels.

Posted by: Clem. Oct 8 2011, 05:40 PM

No please uiui stop that..
I would vote fot white lips and black center.

Posted by: the stigster Oct 8 2011, 07:32 PM

^^ thats cool but it wouldnt look like that cause its still the stock wheel trims. i quite like the black with blue think i could do it like ken block. the white with the orange spoke with DC on it, could do that but black with blue??

Posted by: Helmasaur King Oct 8 2011, 08:19 PM

don't put DC, just do blue
maybe do a white spoke, or a black spoke. I don't know if blue would fit with your car's body color

Posted by: M.I.V. Design. Oct 8 2011, 08:38 PM

don't waste money on the stock wheels and save money for alu wheelz wink.gif

Posted by: the stigster Oct 8 2011, 08:39 PM

cant afford the insurance for alloys sad.gif

Posted by: M.I.V. Design. Oct 8 2011, 08:52 PM

lol whut???

Posted by: Helmasaur King Oct 8 2011, 08:54 PM

yeah, if you already have stock wheels, just use those.

ugh Uk sucks

Posted by: the stigster Oct 8 2011, 10:33 PM

got to tell insurance about every little thing so they can make you pay more so your "protected" if you crash... but wheel colour they dont give two hoots about. if i changed the trim to a different style that cost what £30 then my insurance would go up

Posted by: M.I.V. Design. Oct 8 2011, 11:29 PM

damn, here the insurance makes no problems about that, if the car passes the checkup they will cover you
as I am driving atm (to low and stretch) they won't cover me... smile2.gif

Posted by: the stigster Oct 9 2011, 03:23 PM

new zealand is the best place. you only have insurance if you want it..... stupid uk goverment dry.gif

Posted by: Mkid Oct 10 2011, 02:47 PM

Ditch the wheel covers and paint the steelies if you are going to do that. Painting wheel covers just seems lame.

BTW, nice car. I love 106's

Posted by: Curtis Oct 10 2011, 05:31 PM

^this.

Draw a triangle between the wheel nuts xd.gif

Posted by: the stigster Oct 10 2011, 06:34 PM

cant really paint the steelies and i like the design of the trims. hopefully they'll be here tomorrow

Posted by: M.I.V. Design. Oct 10 2011, 06:37 PM

what you could do is get a set of 16" covers and make them fit on your steelies, its perfectly possible with glue =p

Posted by: the stigster Oct 10 2011, 06:40 PM

lol glue them to the tyre and zip ties xd.gif

Posted by: Mkid Oct 10 2011, 06:40 PM

You can paint anything. Clean them off really good, sand, primer, paint, clear. Done. If you don't want it to be permanent, you can use plasti-dip as a primer.

It peels right off. Its what I used to paint the front of my lancer and my chrome wheel arch trim black.

Posted by: the stigster Oct 10 2011, 06:51 PM

that sounds kool.

also my badge on my boot is just silver, not sure why. but at the end of the month im going to get this hopefully.

Posted by: the stigster Oct 11 2011, 10:13 AM

lol get the steelies chromed xd.gif

no i was thinking if i did take the trims off id paint the steelies red and get white wall tyre inserts toung.gif

just got a phone call from my dad, the trims have arrived going to pic them up later, after my mum comes back with my car lol

Posted by: Madset. Oct 12 2011, 05:12 AM

You can change the trim to whatever you want, that just counts as maintenance. As do other things like upgrading suspension and stuff like that. Or just buy some peugeot alloys and they won't know the difference.

Posted by: the stigster Oct 12 2011, 09:08 PM

true, but it would look a bit dodgy if the police pulled me over and asked why my car was slammed and i said maintenance... doesnt really matter i cant heavy modifiy it because my sisters having it after me. so i got to save for a my own car then i can mod the hell out of it.

Posted by: M.I.V. Design. Oct 12 2011, 09:20 PM

slammed you will always be in a violation of the law, dont matter if the insurance knows or not wink.gif

Posted by: the stigster Oct 12 2011, 09:30 PM

they'll just say that your ruining public roads and tax you more lol

Posted by: The Dude Oct 13 2011, 01:02 AM

Nahh you can legally lower your car without any problems, if you don't do it retardedly. for most cars it makes them better to handle.

Posted by: AndrewGMC Oct 13 2011, 03:36 AM

if its some sort of dark green paint em gold like subaru´s wheels

Posted by: the stigster Oct 13 2011, 09:04 AM

sounds cool, think im going with white. theres some other kid with the same car,(colour and wheel trims) and hes got his black, going with white with blue blots

Posted by: Curtis Oct 13 2011, 06:26 PM

Don't use the blue. That will look awful against the green on your car. Just stick to white dude

Posted by: M.I.V. Design. Oct 13 2011, 07:06 PM

gold!

Posted by: uiui Oct 13 2011, 07:08 PM

Gold bbs rims?

Posted by: M.I.V. Design. Oct 13 2011, 07:57 PM

no dumbass, gold discs

Posted by: The Dude Oct 13 2011, 11:08 PM

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Posted by: Shafz Oct 14 2011, 12:44 AM

Wow.. so scared to mod and tell insurance.. You play it WAY too safe man, just saying I've driven a modified car or two for a while now without declaring a few mods and thankfully haven't got in any trouble for it, its all about doing subtle mods man.. and don't paint trims its a waste of time tbh.. they're plastic trims. it'll just look ghetto as f*ck.. opinions though. I'd paint the steelies.

Shafz.

that is the point of even driving this car

Posted by: the stigster Oct 14 2011, 07:51 PM

atm i dont really care if i paint the trims or let the air out my fricking tyres im sick of driving at the limit cause of my insurance and i would love to have a project car as this has to stay stock, mechanical wise, no matter what it is. its a massive kick in the teeth. sad.gif

Posted by: Shafz Oct 16 2011, 03:55 PM

What insurance company are you with mate? Co-Op (not the young drivers tracker bull, but the normal company) is brilliant for drivers of our age..

Shafz.

Posted by: Ed. Oct 16 2011, 10:03 PM

sand down the steelies, paint 'em white and when you can afford the insurance, throw the car to the floor.

Posted by: Helmasaur King Oct 16 2011, 10:07 PM

dont do that, you might break it

Posted by: the stigster Oct 16 2011, 10:12 PM

@ shafz - i got the co-op tracker one sad.gif my mums the main driver and im a named. im paying for it each month so its costing me £57 a month. which for a first car 17 year old is pretty good. my mate at college has a 1.6 old BMW 3 series (i think) and hes paying £160

@ i wish i could but the car has to stay stock.....

UPDATE!!!!!

my car is modding itself!

you hear/see correctly!! i've just got back from work and the closer to home i got the louder my exhaust got. im pretty sure i have a hole just before the CAT. well put it this way sounds like i got straight pipes and im driving at the limit and sensibly xd.gif its awesome.... just hope i dont get pulled for it being to loud, as i cant afford to get it fixed and i need it wednesday to go to college.

Posted by: Ed. Oct 16 2011, 10:13 PM

Where abouts do you live, Stiggy?

Posted by: AndrewGMC Oct 16 2011, 10:16 PM

so, u need to tell the insurance company u are painting ur wheels gold?

Posted by: the stigster Oct 16 2011, 10:16 PM

UK in the south west a little part called somerset

@andrew.. not that i know of. i know i have to tell them that im changing the wheels of a sports exhaust of changed the whole colour of the car. but i think the colour of the wheels they dont give two hoots about just as long as you got some lol

Posted by: Ed. Oct 16 2011, 10:19 PM

So you're about 80 miles from me, I'm Northampton, or if you're like most of the UK and don't know where that is, about 20 miles South of Milton Keynes.
If you find a half-way spot, I'll gladly come down and give you a hand playing with it in a manor that doesn't affect your insurance

Posted by: the stigster Oct 16 2011, 10:23 PM

its not so much i dont want to tell the insurance. the proper reason why im not allowed to is its my mums car, she's allowing me to use it to get to college and work. she's said multiple times that i cant modify it in any mechanical way. but i can put stickers on it. paint the wheels as im doing... does that make sense? another reason is, my sister who's 15 i think, is having the car after me.

thanks so much for the offer though im very grateful

Posted by: Shafz Oct 16 2011, 11:35 PM

I'm only 18 and I'm paying £1953 a year on a Starlet 1.3 16valve N/A.. so around £162 a month.. Named driver, on Co-Op without tracker.. so 160 for your mates BMW is really good.. tbh my insurance was actually cheaper at 17 (£1720 a year), but the bastard increase in insurance prices means its gone up to £1953..

But I do live in a F rated postcode area in London, whereas your areas a fair bit safer than mine probably..

Hope you get it sorted, theres little mods you can do if you wanna keep your insurance legit, PM me for my MSN or blackberry messenger (if you have it) and I'll help out..

Shafz.

Posted by: Madset. Oct 17 2011, 04:46 AM

save up enough to buy it off you mum. problem sorted.

Posted by: the stigster Oct 17 2011, 10:27 AM

im saving up to buy a old VW beetle, failing that im gunna get an old golf maybe.

Posted by: Mkid Oct 17 2011, 04:54 PM

About your exhaust, if it happened over time its not a hole. I'd say something shook loose.

Posted by: the stigster Oct 17 2011, 08:38 PM

i found out what caused the exhaust problem.
my lambda sensor no longer wanted to be apart of my exhaust so he broke free...

soooo yea, a nice big whole.

its fixed now, went to one garage got a quote for £350 for whole new exhaust and a new lambda sensor. then i went to the place where i used to work and welded the sensor back in place xd.gif. the sensor was just hanging there.

on the up side my car sounded cool for a while and even my mum thought it did lol. shame its put right now really sad.gif

Posted by: Mkid Oct 18 2011, 02:44 AM

Posted by: P.I.M.P Nov 4 2011, 07:22 PM

and if u have already answered it. im sorry for asking it again

Posted by: the stigster Dec 1 2011, 08:36 PM

i was planning on doing some mods but when phoned the insurance company up about it they said im not allowed any mods on the car as it would make my insurance invaild not cool...
so no lowering sad.gif

i have made a hole in my exhaust and it now pops i finally got a youtube account again so i'll get a mate to film it tomorrow and then get it up and post a link somewhere

Posted by: Mkid Dec 1 2011, 09:10 PM

How would the insurance company ever know O_o

Posted by: the stigster Dec 2 2011, 07:14 PM
