a 620 is way cooler than any s13 or is300. I'm actually thinking about buying a 521 myself. Old cars are usually more expensive to maintain than newer cars, but datsuns are so simple that there's not much to break. Plus it is a truck, so it's more practical, as long as it's not some stupid stance rat. And you get to play with carburetors, which is a lot more satisfying than EFI.

First, you need something you can afford, not sure about insurance prices there, but here is expensive as f**k if youre newbie.
Also, for afford I mean insurance, parts and maintenance, if you have a friend that can fix parts for you, thats good. Also, the first crash will probably be the worst, making your car useless, and something not powerful, 100-150 hp would be cool. I would say some FWD, S13 are hard to maintain, cause if you don't prepare them, they use to break, especially the cilinder head.. The best option, if you dont want a Focus nor a european car, I would take an EG5 without doubt! |

Don't buy a car and then plan to invest money in it
unless you know deep down in your soul that this car is the one odds are in 3 years tops you will have to get a new one and it will probably happen within the first year I know its s**tty advice but use this first car just as a point a to b car and keep saving then when the first car breaks upgrade to something more fun that you tune and enjoy |

I had a golf Mk2 3 door 1.3L, had to insure it in my dads name it cost me so damn much
Then out in Canada I got a truck, but never really got it running well but there is definitely a difference in how easy some types of cars are to get in different parts of the world |
