Pixel Car Art _ Automotive chat _ Kuba's ride

Posted by: Kubason Jun 29 2013, 05:58 PM

What's up guys.
I've decided to make one of those car threads, too, so here it is, my very first ride.
Photos from when I've brought it home...

It's 2000 Škoda Felicia LXi. Engine is 1.3 MPi, it has 50 kW (about 68 HP) and 105 Nm, wich isn't that much but it weights only 935 kg, so it still runs pretty good.
Its equipment is central door locker, power steering (or how to call it), CD player, roof window, mirrors and door handles in the same color as the rest of the car, third brake light at the top of the car, lights that turn on automatically when I turn engine on and front fog lights.
My plans are do some major checking of the car and see what needs to be changed, then maybe some light tuning like new rims and suspension, maybe some new color (after I take care of the rust) and also new speakers and maybe new brakes and engine upgrade, we'll see...

thats cool as hell man

is it diesel or petrol?

Posted by: Kubason Jun 29 2013, 06:27 PM

Petrol, diesel they put in this car was the s**ttest engine you could have, it has nopower, is heavy and brakes down a lot

Posted by: uiui Jun 29 2013, 06:46 PM

God Damn!
We also have Felicia but 1.9 lx, silver color, black interior, runs good.Bad thing is it have rusty back door but its better car than yours toung.gif Anyway dear man have a nice time with her smile2.gif btw I think mine are diesel not sure 100 %

first of all, no, you don't have better car toung.gif
also, yeah, Felicias have the problem that tehir bodies aren't galvanized, so they rust quite easily
and lastbut not least, if it is 1.9 engine, then it for sure is diesel

Posted by: Vicent M. Jun 29 2013, 09:18 PM

for this car i would buy new suspension and 16'' rims would fit nicely

Posted by: Kubason Jun 29 2013, 09:32 PM

16" are too big, I am planning 14", maybe 15" but only if I find some super awesome 15" rims
so far I would to have like these, from Felicia Sport

Posted by: Kubason Jun 30 2013, 12:40 PM

so, at friday me and my friend changed bottom pins and all cuffs on my car. I must tell you, I was really lucky that nothing serious happened with the old ones. It is hard to take care of a car when previous owner didn't give a f**k about it.

I think you can guess which pin is the new one

next goal: chaning steering pins and also oil and filter changing smile2.gif

Posted by: Henrique. Jun 30 2013, 07:37 PM

nice ride man, I never saw one but are you sure 16s are too big? I mean, unless you want to roll REALLY low, 16s sounds like a good deal to me... those wheels on it are 12 or 13?

Posted by: Kubason Jun 30 2013, 10:43 PM

well all basic Felicias had 13" rims and extra series had 14" rims. I think more than 15" rims are too big. They would be uncomfortable to ride, because tires would be too thin and also it wouldn't look good with such a big wheels

my friend have kyb excel g, eibach springs and 225 tire with a 18'' rim on his pug, and its pretty confortable... So I dont think you wont have that problem if you choose the best shock absorber..

Posted by: Madset. Jul 1 2013, 03:41 AM

13x10 -15 go

Madset go jerk on rotiform you can't choose right rim size you are not that good.

Posted by: Nick47 Jul 2 2013, 12:35 PM

ats classics, 13x8

or some nice 14 inch wheels

awww i wish man, I wish...

Not really, our roads are like this

comfy roads are highways and recently paved... toung.gif

Also I say comfy when we are comparing shock absorbers, some friends mounted yellow Selex and they say it was a f**king s**t for the daily. My friend uses KYB for daily, atm is -3 and it goes pretty wheel.

sorry kubason for the offtopic toung.gif

Posted by: Kubason Jul 5 2013, 10:24 PM

well most probably I will buy 14" rims, those I've posted but so far I don't really care, because there are much more important things to do on the car and I don't have infinite money

Posted by: Myca Jul 6 2013, 07:38 PM

Lol it's eastern europe, we have no roads too, that's why my Passat is still OEM. Drive a car with rims which size is over 16" is a big problem.

Remove that erect hook at rear of car. Would look better.

Yeah, driving 16" rims here would be too uncomfortable, because on this car the tires would be too thin, like 195/45, or something similar, not talking about the fact that they would look too big on this car and would make it ugly

Posted by: Madset. Jul 7 2013, 03:24 AM

ew rotiforms

wtf

and you say i went full retard

Posted by: Henrique. Jul 7 2013, 09:16 PM

Who said Rotiforms anyway? again, you're going full retard

Posted by: Kubason Jul 7 2013, 10:23 PM

guys...

Posted by: Madset. Jul 8 2013, 03:38 AM

That guy said I should go jerk over some rotiforms at wheel whores or some s**t

Who the f**k does that over rotiforms

Luxury abstract doe Damn bitch I'd fap over dat s**t anyday

Posted by: Unox. Jul 8 2013, 05:31 AM

Posted by: Faяaп. Jul 8 2013, 05:48 AM

Posted by: Kubason Sep 17 2013, 09:38 PM

what's up my fellow people?
after a longer time I've got some update
I've finally had a time to get rid of the rust. with huge help of my friends.
rear bumper was put off and then paint was grinded off the fender and all the rusty parts

kit was put on

and then sandpapered (or how to call it)

next steps: add another layer of kit on nescesarry places, sandpaper the kit under water (I don't really know how to say it in english), and paint it.
Then I need to take care of the undercarriage

Posted by: Mkid Sep 20 2013, 09:01 PM

I think you mean "wet sanding".

Posted by: Kubason Sep 21 2013, 08:31 AM

yeah, that may be the right phrase

Posted by: Myca Oct 7 2013, 06:27 PM

Nice work man. Which self-etching primer you use? Heard positive feedback about Body 960 primer. I need to do the same work.

Posted by: Kubason Oct 7 2013, 07:06 PM

well at final I didn't use primer for this one, since I'm going to weld on new rear fender in a year or two. But if you need the parts you are going to repair last longer, grind off the paint and the rust, then degrease it (or how to say it smile2.gif), spray it with acrylate anti corrosive gray primer (2 layers), put on kit (if it has some bigger holes, use green kit and then the basic yellow one), then spray it again with primer and then you can apply the color itself

Posted by: KVcustoms Nov 28 2013, 03:43 PM

is the car in your sig yours? O_O

Posted by: JoviBlue Nov 28 2013, 03:48 PM

I'm asking the same question as he is aha

Posted by: Kubason Nov 28 2013, 07:01 PM

I'm sorry to dissapoint you guys but no, it isn't... i don't have a job now, so no money to spend on my car :C
but it is basically how I would my car to look like, except I would like to have black roof, smoked blinkers and a lip under the front bumper

Posted by: KVcustoms Nov 28 2013, 07:05 PM

shame lol
