SO i just bought a AE86 85' coupe, and im looking for help i know a good amount of people on this site have owned these cars but mine being a shell i would like to get it moving soon , i am very confused on the whole blacktop vs silver top 4AGE , i am looking for a 20V 4AGE with a 16V trans , can i use the factory driveshaft? what else is needed? i keeo reading about a mustang 8.8 rear in it and how people use FC brakes and that you can use S13 parts for the car. i am just not trying to get into a mess with this car i dont want ti to cost more money then it will normally, my plan is to get it driving and just upgade as i go and eventually get it painted and nice looking , jovi already saved my ass once but i am asking to atleast be pointed to nice forums or givin advice, thanks

Best advice I can give is figure out what you really want before you dump a bunch of money. That sounds like a big project.. and you are switching cars a lot

Yeah, if it's just a shell, expect at least a year before you even get an engine running. What happened to your last car?
Wasn't it just a weekends work away from being legal?

As it's a shell you got all the freedom to build it up exactly how you want it. As Faran said, do some proper research on what the possibilities are and what direction you want to go with it.

Agreeing with Sean here, don't expect to get it running in a week.

Just take it slow, do your research and make sure you build it right.

just message Jovi and I about all of this because I've already reshelled my car and Jovi is pretty smart

you will need different drive shafts depending on SR5 or GTS rear ends.
