Pixel Car Art _ Help and Support _ More Moderators

Posted by: Erald. Dec 31 2009, 02:02 PM

Can we maybe have a group of new moderators and move all the moderators right now to an admin position?

Posted by: DMC-12 Dec 31 2009, 02:17 PM

Good idea. We need more active members who will actually look out for theives and other things like that.

Posted by: Kubason Dec 31 2009, 02:20 PM

yes, this is quite good idea...we need some active admins and people who are now mods are active enough

the current staff would chose them if it goes through

Posted by: Timay Dec 31 2009, 08:49 PM

It needs to go through

And before a million people come in and rip my heart out, just listen.

I know you all (in support of the current mods) are gonna be like D: BUT THEY HAVES TEH LIFES?!

See the thing is, anyone can have a life, and still be able to dedicate time to the community. Right now all we have is a bunch of colored names that every so often come on, and well... Don't really do a whole lot. We got Alex in charge because Jim was gone and Mick wanted a right hand man, but what's changed since then other than a couple names? Mike spends 70 hours a day on facebook, but never comes here, Mark is at school, f**king b***hes, and getting money, but in all that, it's not hard to find time to at least check up.

As for the other mods. Who are they? They never come around so what's the point?

With all the credit issues, bugs in the forum, spamming, and flaming going on, we need people that are actually going to live up to their responsibilities. Most of the issues with the forum are seriously 5 minute fixes. As an admin on another forum, I can say it takes a whole 30 seconds to make a team. Although this is different here because of the different boards, I'm sure it doesn't take too long. Same with skins, banners, icons, all of that. None of the staff here are really dedicated to the job they've been given, and I mean, this isn't "real life" but if this forum was a company, they'd at least have been laid off.

If you can't handle the responsibility that you're given because of your life and all that, don't take the responsibility. People aren't going to stop breaking rules, want improvements to the forum, or even get along, just because you can't be here to oversee it...

That's in the hands of the admins Kuba.

well I know....just someone asked, so I answered smile.gif

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 1 2010, 02:58 AM

to be honest i have no clue how to modify the forum topics so i can't fix the bugs,

I can't look through every post, so report anything you see that needs fixing, cussing, steeling, bumping, ect.

though your not mods you can still chose a topic to regulerly patrol and report incidents. and to be honest i'm starting to get pissed with all the vulgarity that's going on in the forums as of lately. PM me on signature/avatar issues and stuff as well.

This is exactly why you need some active moderators.

Honestly, this forum is filled with a lot of immature people. Not saying that offensively, this whole community is close knit and fun loving in its immaturity.. this is why its tough to pick out new moderators. A new mod can't be afraid to punish their friend if he/she is acting out on the forum. They can't be spammers and offenders themselves. Don't post up here "I think (insert friend's name here) should be a mod/admin", that's exactly what would lead one not to choose them... find some people that get on daily (give or take a few days), can enforce the rules, and is mature about the position...

Posted by: Faяan Jan 1 2010, 06:41 AM

i think im really active here to be honest, and would be good for that.
but i dont think id make a good mod.

anyways, yea our mods like james, mike, mark n those people way too inactive... espicially Darren... he come on once the whole year and suspended me.

Posted by: _RX7 _ Jan 1 2010, 06:52 AM

i really agree with this pca really does need a new fresh set of mods that are active at the moment and visit almost every day smile.gif

Posted by: Alex (Ghost) Jan 1 2010, 01:07 PM

vote 1 for me. im practically here 24/7 and i steal(rolleyes.gif) peoples parts

I am joking. lol

Posted by: Modster91 Jan 1 2010, 02:25 PM

In all fairness, there is alot of stuff you lot don't see which we've sorted by the time you get to it, but I can see where you're coming from. I didn't realise how much rubbish there was to sort before I became a moderator 2bh

I personally come on most days and have a good look around most of the stuff on here. I'm fairly innactive as a tuner, but I think I still make a decent contribution to commenting, and helping everyone else.
Alot of the spamming swearing etc is coming from our most popular, 'settled' members anyway lol

Posted by: DMC-12 Jan 1 2010, 02:50 PM

i agree with the topic and particular with timay

and audi needs to come online so we can procedure with the team thingy

Posted by: Robb. Jan 1 2010, 07:01 PM

Well i think anyone who wants to be a mod, has to write a bit about them and why they want to be a mod and what would PCA benifit from you being a mod ECT then the mods can vote and decide on a group of new mods, then the old mods become admins or whatever.. Sounds like a good plan to me biggrin.gif

I agree.

Ok, we seriously need people like Mark. Even though he doesn't pixel alot, he still sorts the board out.

Not showing off, but I think that I am responsible enough to be a mod (Altough most of you think I am a 13-year old spammer).

And carhartt, there are alot of honest people, you need to find them though ph34r.gif

Posted by: Timay Jan 2 2010, 08:11 PM

I don't think people should come in here nominating themselves...

Everyone wants to be a mod, and frankly I would only pick a few people on the forum capable of holding the position

+1
I myself have been an admin on an IPB board and like Josiah said, it takes less than 5 minutes to fix up a new team forum, or any type of forum for that matter. It takes 10 mins to answer all the reports, fix them and be gone. So whats the big deal mods? GET IR DONE!

Posted by: Timay Jan 2 2010, 10:00 PM

Yeah, I'm admin on my little forum

And was Admin on DriveStreet, twice

Posted by: FnF_Racer Jan 2 2010, 10:09 PM

i agree on the fact what Josiah and Aiden said, i also have some history in forums and s**t (although much simpeler than this, i guess.)

and about the "new" mods: i think that the people who are here regular, and think they are man enough for the job, should PM a list to the current Admins and Mods.
i think that most of the admins and Mods know most of the people here, and can dicide fair on who is fit enough to be a mod.

and you can also keep it fair enough, so that there isn't friendly politics amongs who becomes mod.

also, nominating yourself is lame. the change you will be picked is now reduced by this, particulary if you ment it....

and no, i'll pass on the modjob, i'm too inactive to be a good mod here.... wink.gif

Also, I PMed Mick a couple months ago with a full application for, y'know being a mod. Guess what? I didn't become a mod. Okay, no problem, I can't handle the job then, but he also didn't send anything back, like it's pending or something. D:

People using the report button does no good if there are no mods around to respond

Posted by: Modster91 Jan 4 2010, 02:19 PM

Well everything gets done eventually, its rare that we've got things waiting to be sorted out. Unless people delete things, the posts are going to still be there when we get to it.

you know perty darn well that's not true,

Posted by: Timay Jan 4 2010, 07:27 PM

We have a single active mod

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 4 2010, 08:29 PM

Mark and i are here almost every day, Mike and James also come around every couple days as well.

still the report feature isn't a waste, use it and things will be fixed in due time.

Posted by: Josн Jan 5 2010, 12:01 AM

wouldn't it be better if it was done almost immediately though? i mean, like you said, people can edit stuff. it'd be much better to see what was originally said, than to shrug off an edited version that's not offensive.

Posted by: FF4Ever Jan 5 2010, 01:39 AM

I can i apply xd.png
I don't think we need more moderators. After all PCA IMO is not a problematic forum.
But we can have more mods to help the current ones. More is always better, no?

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 5 2010, 02:27 AM

well of course people cna edit stuff, but who does when they're being arguative or offensive?

and if someone quotes their post or topic the offender can't change it so that's proof

Posted by: Timay Jan 5 2010, 02:32 AM

If so many people have brought this up, over and over though, don't you think it's an issue you should address?

I don't wanna sound like I'm attacking you, because it's merely an observation, but since you've become admin, you haven't really addressed any issues. You just brush aside most any suggestion, complaint, anything that we bring up. The forum is becoming more and more inactive, and there are simple things you could do to keep people active and interested and you're just turning away like it's not an issue.

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 5 2010, 05:16 AM

timay just stop ok.

i modify names, deleat accounts, do the general mod stuff plus a little more. i see the complaints and suggestions but i don't have the control over some of those things, most i don't know how to change and it's not my forum it's addicts, he gets the final say in what suggestions get fixed.

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 5 2010, 05:18 AM

oh and i am adressing an issue rigth here and now, asking you people to report issues is exactly that...

Posted by: Erald. Jan 5 2010, 11:54 PM

Final line we are trying to get thought is that we need more moderators to cover for those times you guys aren't on thats all. It's either a yes or no thing.

Oh, this topic is in no way or shape offending you guys, you're doing a great job and all it's just that we need more mods to ensure the rules are being enforced. For example, we had a topic about that GMC kid, nothing got done even though we proved it, it was just closed and deleted. Perhaps have/create a system of getting both of the sides of the story before you close a topic.

Posted by: Andrew Jan 6 2010, 12:10 AM

that GMC kid is a noob

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 6 2010, 03:28 AM

you're GMC...

he has been warned and delt with if he slips up again he's out of here fro a couple weeks. that whole arguement got blow up as well, you guys shouldn't have started a whole topic on it, just PM one of us. it's better to keep these things low key then drag the entire forum into it.

Posted by: Andrew Jan 6 2010, 03:42 AM

yeah i know that alex im being sarcastic anyway imo we need more mods

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 6 2010, 03:51 AM

we have been discussing it, but honestly it's toughf choosing new members.

it takes some time since we all have to agree with the choise and the target member has to exibit sertain qualities of maturity or we could have an issue of someone abusing their powers and what not.

Posted by: Andrew Jan 6 2010, 04:00 AM

but maybe moe mods can help us with the translation i know many members that cant speak english very well maybe if a persona can speak lots of languages can help the newibies

No.
If someone stole something major from say, a painting from an art gallery. You would want EVERYONE associated with that hobby/job to know. To warn them. Not keep it quiet to save his face. F*ck that sh*t. Having everyone know their a ripper and getting abuse from various members helps them, or should do, realise that what they did was wrong. This community doesn't need anymore rippers, we've had enough of them to write a novel.

I'm not telling you how to do you're job Alex, but seriously. He should have been banned first, since it was his SECOND time ripping peoples parts. That thing between you're ears is amazing when you use it.
[/rant]

Posted by: ChevyRacer454 Jan 6 2010, 04:00 PM

abuse helps them... please, abuse lead to 12 pages of immature BS that we had to read through. TWELVE PAGES!!!!! we don't like reading thouhg 12 pages of bs when ony about 5 to 8 of the posts contained anything worth reading.

and a temp/permanent ban would be best because i've seen PCA members go bonkers when a subject comes up like when Sean P poped over and raised hell because of Alex the Ghost... GMC has also stated that he is sorry for doing it. and he knows that if he does it again it's Perma Ban time

i think i should lock this topic seams to be escalating out of control...
