I know its been a while, but why did it go up?? it makes it really hard and annoying to have a conversation. 15 seconds is way too long.
i think 5 or 7 seconds should work fine
5 definatley
5 for sure
I agree on 5.
0!!!!!!!!!!
haha 5 works better the then 0
Yeah, with zero I'd be all

15 isn't that bad. and after what i saw the other day your lucky it's this low

not a very convincing arguement if you ask me
whats the difference in the word poop and a chain of other random words?
poop

poop
is really no different to

hi guys

yo dudes
*random link*
haha
lol
not really but i have been knoticing alot of inappropraite words being used in the SB, don't you guys want to pass PCA of as professional!!!
you can't do that with a shoutbox full of poop, trans sexuals, and making plaster casts of ones own thing so they could theoredicaly f themselves...
I'm probably evenc rossing the forum rules posting that!!!
hmm, i suppose. If we keep it clean can we have quicker posting?
perhapse, it's up to addict i don't know how to mess with the shoutbox though. but keeping it clean and not spaming would help your chances of bringing the SB timer down.
LOL. Poop. Seriously, though, it's only like that when nobody's there. Besides, I wouldn't do it if it was shorter, because then more people would be talking and therefore there'd be no need to spam.
Agreed, its only when there is like 4 people online that combos happen. its much easier to have a proper conversation with smaller limit.
it prob takes u atleast 5 seconds to write ur msg then send and wait for it to refresh anyways... so i think 10-15 seconds is reasonable
EG:
write:blah blah blah blah blah blah
send
Wait to refresh
Read other people shouts
(lets say thats 5-10 seconds)
then again Write
send
(2-5 seconds....)
thats already like the majority of ur waiting time...
so the shoutbox is ok if ur using it for actuall proper msges, rather than spamming
you dont need to wait for refresh. You press the refresh button
yea when u send it has to load pca again....
and u have to refresh cuz it doesnt keep up with every shout
my opinion... is good as is
I've done two things.
SB now refreshes every 10 seconds.
Flood limit is now every 10 seconds.
By the time you hit send, other people read what you've written, you type a response and click send, at least 20 seconds would have passed anyway. If you're having one and two words conversations and NEED to be hitting send every 5 seconds you're obviously spamming and would cop a SB ban for being silly.
I don't mind PCA having smaller flood limits because the SB is less busy that the likes of other sites, but common sense tells me if you're hitting the send button every 10 seconds you're either having too many conversations at once and need to put a little more in each reponse, or you're not reading and aren't having a conversation at all.
thats cool. but sometimes you make a mistake and need to correct, then half the convo has gone by before you can fix it
Yeah, new shoutbox.
haha old shoutbox with editing and codes n colours was cool
i think he just blew your MIND
even better. use an irc client and set up a channel/s forpeople to gable on about stuff. its like having a giant msn sortof thing, you can who's on, you can pm them if you want, or you can just generally chat to everyone in the room. quite handy actually. and if you're worried about swearing and other gutter talk, claptrap, garbage, rubbish, trashtalk etc. there is a censor for that stuff.
Yeah actually IRC is quite excellent, I used to use it all the time.
I could even make it for you guys if I can just remember how to do it lol.
EDIT: Yeah I really seem to have forgotten completely how to do it.
