...Really, I'm tired of this. Those two cars were imported LEGALLY into the US. Seriously, it's nice to know my taxpayer money is used for this...(sarcasm) |

it was hard enough to get them into the country
now the government is taking them from people... ...japan never really let go of that whole "World War II" thing, did they? any massive inconvenience to a minor population is a win in their book (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

What are you talking about? We have the new GT-R. lol
They never sold Skylines here because they didn't think it would sell. As soon as it became popular, they gave us the GT-R. Think about it. When Skylines started getting mainstream popular, The last gen GT-R was already close to ending production. So they just gave us the next one. |

They didn't bother making it to our specs cuz they never had the intention to sell it here for economic reasons is what I meant.

I think it fails on emissions too. Turbo cars tend to be filthy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

The only ones that are capable of being legally imported and registered as road cars are r33's from 1996-1998. But I think they still need certain modifications.
r32 and r34 skylines are not able to meet US standards through modification according to the DOT, so they can not be used as street cars. However, they can be imported as race cars "off road use only" not off road like rally, but off road as in they can't be driven on the streets. or they can be imported as "show" cars but can only be driven for a total of 2500 miles per year. |

Yeah, Canada is much more lax. I think if a car is older then 10 years, it does not need to be inspected. That means you can import any 2001 car or older into Canada currently.
