Snow tires are designed to be able to grip in cold snowy conditions much better. They're a lot softer than normal tires and the tread is usually directional so that they grip good in acceleration and so that they don't lose traction in braking. It's also good to have a different set of rims. around here they salt the roads to melt the snow on the main roads and the salt can cause a lot of corrosion on wheels. Also, what mike said is true, you don't want wide, low profile, or stretched tires in the snow. It's like driving on 4 sleds.

I'm planning of getting an Audi Brandon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Ok, because Belgium is f**ked up

we have small plates like mine
(IMG:http://static.autoblog.nl/images/wp2008/Eerste%20nieuwe%20Belgische%20nummerplaat.jpg)

But from 2010 new registered cars get
(IMG:http://www.mag.be/web/images/stories/politiek/Rechthoekig_model_520_mm_x_110_mm.jpg)

If that plate won't fit your car, you can ask for (340 mm x 210 mm)
(IMG:http://www.mag.be/web/images/stories/politiek/Vierkant_model_340_mm_x_210_mm.jpg)
(not a gr8 solution)

And for the most the best choise would be (210 mm x 140 mm)
(IMG:http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/s720x720/205897_2366239396253_1258463161_32895935_558089_n.jpg)
