R32 GTR
- Cheap sports car - They are f**king sick - All those d**ks in their small ricers will be like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Wanna race? - You win - It is fast - $20K - I like it Cons - Insurance - Defection - RWC - Fuel - Crashing Naah, Corolla is a great first car. Or a Golf. Or a Magna, or a Lancer (Mirage in the US) Or a Civic, those can become beasts, or a Starlet GT, I have seen one so fast it be like: WOAH! and also a very sexy one. |

nissan silvia 240sx kouki Mazda RX7 Savanna (FC3S) 2010 Ford Festiva. Mazda 3... the turbo one R34 GTR Series 8 RX7 KE70 corolla. 1974-1984 Volkswagen Rabbit/Golf HONDA CITY TURBO R32 GTR IMO, none of those would be good first cars. They're all either cool cars, favorite cars, sporty cars, fast cars, whatever. But that's not what should be looked at when you're just getting your drivers license. Around here, kids start looking to buy their first car around 15-16 years old. 1. Half those cars won't be anywhere near the price range someone is looking for at that age. 2. People aren't going to be able to put up with the maintenance and repair a 26-36 year old VW requires. 3. New drivers + fast cars = dead drivers The whole point of buying a first car is to have something cheap and reliable you can learn how to drive in, something you can learn how to maintain too. If you can make it far enough that you've learned those things and the car is still in good shape, then you can start to modify it or then buy something like this list... but the reality is, most new drivers end up trashing their first car in one way or another, whether it by through accidents on the road or improper maintenance. |

Fully agree with Jared, he knows what he is talking about (IMG:style_emoticons/default/toothygrin.gif)
I have another one: Mazda MX-5/Miata NA (1989-1998) Pros -Great value. -Maintenance is cheap. -Insurance and taxes are cheap. -Can't catch up with a Skyline, RX7, Silvia or whatever. -If you have a hardtop version, you will not be called a girl or a homo. -Great on fuel. Cons -They tend to rust. -If you get a soft top, you'll be called a girl or a homo. -The interiors are pretty s**t in most cases. Can't think of more arguments (IMG:style_emoticons/default/toung.gif) |

good first car: small engine, mostly hatchback, and pretty basic.
Honda civic EG 1.6, Opel Corsa 1.4 8V/16V or 1.6 8V/16V, VW Golf 3 or 4/Polo/Lupo, Ford Escort of 1999, Ford fiesta. also something that is cheap, like 2000 euro MAX. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) and never buy at a dealer. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ...... wow, sounds nothing like my first car i bought. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Opel Astra G 1.8 16V with almost every option, 5000+, very good shape, and insurance f**ks me good.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/toung.gif) oh, and bought by a garage. This post has been edited by FnF_Racer: Nov 17 2010, 07:44 PM |

No one wants em anymore, road tax is ridiculous, insurance is ridiculous, everything's ridiculous... |

Honda City Turbo
(IMG:http://blog.autoworld.com.my/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/cityturbo1.jpg) 1982-1986 Same story as with the vw, finding the parts and being able to maintain a 24-28 year old car as a first car isn't something for most new drivers. |

golf mk2-3-4
vento/jetta -cheap (insurance to) -if you need parts you'll find m fast -almost all garages know VW so they can fix it -if you don't have to cash to get it fixed by a garage you can do it, VW is easy (click 'n' play) -the engines are awesome and if you take good care they will last forever -ok ok, they have rust, buts its not that its hard to fix if you have the know how -brand new parts are always available, just find the dealers -there are nuf golfs, so if you need something you can steal it probably in a radius of 0.5km around your driveway This post has been edited by M.I.V.
