So today I bought me a little bit of a project.
1984 Porsche 944
84,641 Miles
$2000 Motor Overhaul at 80,000 Miles
Paid: $1000.
Needs - Paint and Interior, also fix the linkage pin so I can shift into reverse.

Looks like a good project. Body looks like it's not in too bad of shape. some nice looking paint will definitely have it looking pretty sharp. Congrats.

Hell no. Why would I paint it "Arrest Me Red." Its probably going to be original black or if I can convince my dad to let me paint in a metallic silver.
J.Red yeah the body is really nice has some little dings scattered around it but Ill just sand them down to bare metal and bondo them.

Hate white cars. Really depends on what it is though. Just gonna do it black so its easier to paint. wont have to worry as much with the door jambs and everything cause they are already black. I might stick some metallic in it but that makes it harder to fix scratches.

Sanded that rear section of the car and then applied a coat of primer. Then sanded that coat and added another coat of primer.

I just thought! You should make a replica of your car with the 944 turbo in Forza 3. Make it look all primered with sanded spots, find wheels close to yours, etc, etc.

To get the fender off the car.
They run a line of butyl (basically AB weld) and put the fender on and bolt it down and then they cover it about an 1/8th inch thick with undercoating so its almost like they welded it to the chassis.

I'm going to try to answer for him even tho I'm not 100% sure. but I'm pretty sure he mentioned to me that all the running gear is almost entirely different. Its just the same body and frame really.

Turbo motor is bigger and has upgraded internals and suspension. Different body style. and the dash is actually pretty.
Basically the non turbo 944 is designed to perform at peak performance without a turbo. and vice versa with the 944T.

Makes sense. I was just asking because It's kind of what I would be more likely to do. Once I start a project car, I just continue to build on it. But if you've got another car that's a better platform for a turbo, that makes sense.

Nope, the 944 was designed as a Volkswagen, the only reason it didn't end up as a VW was because VW couldn't afford to buy the design off Porsche, hence why most of the 924/944 family aren't really fast at all

It's not his fault VW made Porsches were consistantly recognised for their flammable properties, is it?
He said Bye bye, like I was just gonna dump it in a JY and never see it again. I find it quite rude.
It was a VW/Audi joint project, later dropped, then Porsche picked it up. 944 Turbo was fairly quick, could keep up with the LT1 vettes of the early 90's.

Can't blame me for assuming it was gone. You just had a Facebook status at that point saying your car was on fire. No pictures or anything.
And I don't know what you're asking about the normalness. Just a totally average Porsche. Whatever one is the best definition of the company.

Although the 911 Carrera is the bottom bitch of the 911's I would have to say it sells pretty well.
I think the another notable model would be the Boxster. It opened a whole new market for Porsche owners. Even if it is a little bit on the ugly side.
