I know plenty of people that have full race spec cages on street legal cars. And, if your car pre dates airbags, or didn't have them stock, or if you have 5 point harnesses, which i'm sure he does, you don't need airbags.

I know in Canada you can have a Rollcage and no Air Bags now that really only applies to the age of the vehicle but with new standers i believe it's mandatory on all new vehicle must have air bags by law also your not aloud to have a vehicle with Hydraulics and the Vehicle must have 5 inches of ground clearances from the ground to the frame rails by law....

I thought I read somewhere that the cages are illegal... Why don't supercars have them then?

A lot of supercars have hidden cages. they're built in but hidden by the interior body panels.
edit: also, because they aren't required to have them.

That 4000hp integra I posted, with the dual turbos.
(IMG:http://image.turbomagazine.com/f/8548271%20w750%20st0/0202tur_16z%20acura_integra_funny_car%20turbochargers.jpg)
It uses nitrous injection sprays in the turbo to eliminate turbo lag. I'm not sure how, but it's what they said.

I hope your trolling...

Nitrous is not a lubricant, nor would you want to spray it on something glowing hot... can you say "Kaboom!"

mike nitrous is just air with nitrous oxide

the nitrous acts as a cooling stuff
and the extra air produces more power

it isnt flamable
but yeah thats something that i read in a forum
they inject air in the turbo so lag disappear
or turns into a minimum smaller lag

i'm sure many of you already know, but for andrews sake, the nitrous is mixed with the fuel/air mixture prior to entry in the combustion chamber, this densens(?) the fuel, allowing more into the chamber, thus a larger, more powerful explosion ^_^

i alredy had an idea of how nitrous worked (never lurked more cause i dont care)
but i was saying that maybe (cause jred said they were injecting nos in the turbo) they were injecting it to reduce the turbo lag

there a system called anti-lag

i found some info in spanish cbf to translate or something like search it in the net

maybe those guys are making something like that in the turbo

edit:
rubish copy paste

When the driver lifts his foot from the gas pedal the ignition timing is altered with sometimes 40° or more of delay (retard) and the intake air and fuel supply mixture is made richer. The inlet butterfly is kept slightly open or an air injector, bypassing the inlet butterfly, is used to maintain air supply to the engine. This results in air/fuel mixture that keeps getting in the combustion chambers when the driver no longer accelerates. The ignition being severely delayed, the air/fuel mixture reaches the exhaust tubes mostly unburned. When the spark plug fires, the exhaust valve is starting to open due to the ignition delay mentioned above. Additionally, the exhaust temperature being extremely high, the unburned fuel explodes at the contact of the exhaust tubes. Luckily the turbo sits right there and the explosion keeps it turning (otherwise it would slow down since its intake, the exhaust gases, is cut-off). The effect is vastly lower response times with some downsides:

* A quick rise of the turbocharger's temperature (which jumps from ~800°C to the 1100°C+ region) whenever the system is activated
* A huge stress on the exhaust manifold and pipes (mounted on a street car a bang-bang system would destroy the exhaust system within 50-100 km)
* The turbo produces significant boost even at engine idle speeds
* The explosions which occur in the exhaust tubes generate important flames which can, sometimes, be seen at the end of the exhaust tube
* Reduced engine brake

so i belive is good for acceleration and speed
but will just destroy the turbo and its components
but its a fully sponsored car so they can change the turbo an components every 2-4 races

maybe MAYBE

if the acura has those auto transmission
driver doesnt stop to accelerate but when changing gears turbo stops spining so they inject the nos as the anti-lag turbo system

and btw

QUOTE
"Running turbochargers," says Norwood. "Introduces the problem of having enough boost to launch effectively at the starting line. But over the past few years, we have very successfully used nitrous injection to 'spank' up turbos so that they spool almost instantly.

taken from the turbo magazine where jared took the pics

it doesnt give more info
