Pixel Car Art _ Help and Support _ Are there any pixel car art with a top down perspective

Posted by: Hikaru Apr 16 2018, 03:18 PM

Everything I see has side, front, and rear view with the occasional smattering of 3/4 view. I haven't seen any angles of PCA from directly overhead.

If anybody has links please share, I tried searching the forum for relevant key words and came up empty. Any help is appreciated. I've had a hell of a time finding much of anything on google either of actual photographs of cars.

I'm looking for:

AE86 Trueno 3dr
AE86 Levin 3 dr
Civic EK9
Integra DC2
MR2 SW20
R34 Skyline
R32 Skyline
Lancer Evo 3
Lancer Evo 4
NSX
S2000
RX7 FD
RX7 FC

And any other cars from Initial D I forgot to mention.

answer is short: no

during 7+ years i've seen maybe 5 top views ever, and none of them was cool because unlike fv-sv-rv, people weren't putting the time to make them better

Thank you. I saw them about 8 years ago in decent quantities then they just disappeared one day. Must be difficult to make them good.

There was never really a demand for them unless you were to make a 3/4, in which case people would just do the general outlines of parts, because the top view wouldn't really be needed after. It's also rather difficult to find blueprints of top view, though the ones you listed are popular, so you might find some.
If you really want them, you might just have to do them yourself. It would be a good way to learn some stuff, I think

it's incredibly difficult to give the appearance of depth in a normal pixelized top view, making them very unappealing to the casual tuner.
good top views i've seen usually included something extraordinary to make them stand out from the rest. things like no-hood, special lights, etc.
basically top views aren't worth it, unless you're a baller
