Pixel Car Art _ PCA News _ Staff Bashing

Posted by: addict Jan 7 2010, 10:04 PM

This is the one and only warning you'll see from me on these matters.

Recently I have seen PM's, MSN convos, etc. in which members are attacking our staff over a number of matters. I would like to point out a few things to set the story straight.

Myth Number 1 - this is a public forum. This is NOT a public forum, otherwise we wouldn't have a registration process and nothing would be moderated. The site exists for the benefit of our members which includes minors, and if we feel some members behaviour is undesirable on our site we will remove you. It's that simple.

Myth Number 2 - when there's a lot of spam, more mods are needed. This is WRONG. The only reason spam exists is because you lot create it. If you don't press the "reply" button then spam and flaming won't exist. What I get REALLY sick of is when those people who do spam or flame get warned or suspended we then receive PMs asking why. Refer to Myth Number 1 on that one. The way we solve this issue is for you to not post it in the first place.

NOW, on the topic of swearing - this is undesirable and I, along with the other staff, have noticed a disturbing trend of bypassing the filters - AFTER I relaxed them a little for you. This was because everyone swore black and blue you were more grown up than that. Obviously either people were fibbing or I was wrong to relax them. Some of the stuff I have seen posted is just unnecessary.

Members are encouraged not to take things into their own hands. If members are stealing tunes, etc. please REPORT them and we'll take action, including removing them from our site. I don't want PCA's name dragged through the mud because our members don't respect some basic pixel etiquette. I thought the post everyone had seen from Sean P would remind everyone that tuners and base makers don't appreciate you stealing their stuff, and rightfully so. If it ever comes down to a PCA Member and a base maker having disagreements on crediting, I can 95% guarantee you I'm likely to side with the base maker unless you have a REALLY good reason.
