I wish that someone made a cold air intake for my engine... I might make my own, but it still costs about as much to do that as a proper kit for the 5.0 would.

The main pipe thing needs to be custom-fitted nearly every time. My Pull-A-Part has its fair share of awesome cars, too. I just had no idea they were for sale. So, uhh..... It's been in the shop for a long time. Short circuit. Didn't notice it until it was in for basic maintenance, and now they're holding onto it indefinitely until they find the problem.
The thing I love about my mechanic, is that any other place would say "Okay, we'll replace all the electrics and that'll be $1,500." but my guys are taking the time to pinpoint the specific thing to fix, and they're not even charging me to keep the car there all this time. Also, the labor going into finding the problem is totally free. If they find it and I want to fix it myself, I can just go and take it home without paying a dime. Of course, in that case I'd give a nice tip, but still. They're wonderful. |

I got it back on Thursday, and it caught on fire Saturday morning. Nothing was damaged except for some sort of plug thing in the alternator that only costs $8 and can be replaced without tools, so it's no big setback at all. Still, what the hell.
