Hang on guys. All we got prior to registrations closing were posts and threads about how you hate new members asking questions all the time, posting in the wrong place, hassling other members, being very demanding, etc.
Now the community turns around and says the opposite? Come on. Out of all new members, how many come here and immediately having tuning skills to wow you and provide useful feedback on your tunes? Which would be more useful - new members or a competition structure where we have regular large competitions? Would you prefer the site to be about enhancing your and your peers tunes, or answering non constructive questions from people who refuse to learn for themselves? We could have opened registrations within about 2 weeks of them closing because that's when measures were put in place to stop the spammers. But instead we're looking to make some permanent fixes in terms of the registration process and the forum structure as a whole. I'm not handing over the reigns to anyone. Don't forget that across two sites all I get asked is to either change peoples names or do all the little stuff which really isn't important. What does it matter what your display name is? If you didn't like combinations of upper and lower case, or having numbers in your login, why'd you put them there? Name changes will be allowed, but right now the rule is no one gets one - that's fair and unbiased so I don't see an issue... |

QUOTE name changes will be allowed, but right now the rule is no one gets one - that's fair I'm sorry but that makes no sense at all. how hard can it be? |
