Soo, since the prev thread was full of spam, and I got to a point of selling the golf I asked to close that topic.
But after some time calming down and taking it easy and overlooking everything, I decided to keep the golf and just redo it. Last time someone saw the golf: (IMG:http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/267517_146371532106493_100002009421839_293605_4242326_n.jpg) What I'll be posting here will not go on facebook or other forum's I'm on, so keep it here, and keep it nice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) If you think, DERP that should be look cool in purple, keep it to yourself, because this is how the golf will be coming out: (IMG:http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv238/mivdesign/5959124982_52cdd826d1_z.jpg) But with some minor changes... |

Looks good. Getting rid of body rust is a good choice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile2.gif) But can be a tough task. My civic had bunches of rust and dents before we did the body work and paint.

This makes me happy.
Too often people use rust as a reason to allow their cars to look junky *cough*Justus*cough* People like you and Ron who put the time in to fully restore a car impress me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile2.gif) |

My hood has a few dens in the front of it, i was thinking of getting a new hood, but than i thought of a carbra to cover them up
(IMG:http://www.octimex.com/images/product_images/popup_images/bra/212187.jpg) Do it or just get a new hood? Both cost 70-80 euro's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile2.gif) |

I agree with new hood, as you said, when you do something, you do it right and bra over the dens is more like "lol, quickly mask the hood, too lazy to repair"
and since I see how much effort you put in that car, it would be shame to just cover it thanks for reading (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

depending on where the dents are, it could be impossible. plus a hood is a terrible place to have bondo. even just letting it drop too far to latch could cause the bondo to crack. Plus, if the dents are near the front, which i'm guessing they are since he mentioned covering them with a bra. There are usually support structures behind the front of the hood that makes it impossible to hammer from behind.
(IMG:http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/7408/1000880d.jpg) I've been through this before.......twice. getting a new hood is definitely the way to go. |

yea I have 4 very small dents on a row, don't ask me how they got there and like j.red said, there are those straightening struts behind it so you cant dent it out, would need to work from the outside and I don't have the tools for that
and 3 big dents in the middle of the hood, I think it was due to a cat or something |

valence is plastic correct? get a lhd and a right hand drive bumper valence, the exhaust hole should be on either side. cut them both in half, and weld the smooth sections together for instant cleaning (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
also works for plastic front bumper (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |
