I never got why people run stock/different wheels for winter. They just have a different set of tires on them or something?

And nah man the wheel whores classifieds are divided up by region.

I've never seen snow so I have no clue of what is the difference about snow tires and "summer" tires.
Its just a normal tire, but like a dirt tire?

snow tires have a deeper profile and is made from a different material i think, it gives you more grip and shortens your braking time with a few seconds/meters. It's just safer etc

snow wheels should be as skinny as possible too. wide tires = bad for snow.

@ winter discusion: because we don't want to f**k up the summer wheels.
indeed, the winterwheels should be a bit smaller, and also the compound of a winter tyre is different then the summer tyre.
the winter tyre is already usefull at a temperature of 10 degree celcius. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

also, when it's freezing here, they scatter salt on the roads, so the roads de-freeze/are snowless.
and they can put harm to most nice rims.

also: running steelies is much more common around Europe, when the winter strikes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

@ Ivan: i know that wintermode suck, i have the same problem.
almost wanted to buy spacers, so the rims go out more. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/xd.gif)

but still nice man. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
