So anyways i own a 91 s13 sr20det good fun its my daily driver.This topic is gonna be pretty slow but there will be updates with pics after most mods
To start off ill post up the coilovers i installed about a month ago now
Silkroad RMA8's that a bought through jesse streeter from japan
A pic of the car while they were going in (the guard is due for paint every soon, i got backing into in a carpark :/)
So for comparison here is a shot before and a shot after the coilovers
Also slowly collecting parts for when i egt my stud 17x9 Gram lights 57d\'s
So i have sitting in the shed a full 5 stud conversion, consisting of s15 front knuckles, hubs, rotors and calipers and s14 rear hubs and calipers. Also have a pair of adjustable castor rods and have a set of adjustable rear camber arms on the way.
So the plan will be over 2 days to put the whole 5 stud conversion in, replace almost all of the suspension arms with adjustable items and fit the new wheels with some rubber then go get it all aligned.
So there is a quick run down of how she sits now and some plans for the future.

The rims are getting prplaced by some nicley offset gram lights, heres a pic of them.
Then i will be finishing off the exterior with Origin carbon roof wing and boot lip, i have the boot lip sitting in my room and the roof wing is on worder from japan due to come out of origins factory end of the month, so not long. They will look like this, obviously better because they are dark on my dark car

Im sticking with the colour of the car and factory kit for now. With the possibility of going with the factory aero kit and a really dark purple in the future.

This reminds me a lot of my friend's coupe. Its got the Silvia convertion w/ the triple projctors aswell. All black, with the lower middle section cut out of the front bumper. Doesnt have that piece between the lights. :| RB Powered though.
You should deff get brick headlamps, and actualy take car of this car and not multiple S13s...

Little update, the car has gone in for the first part of the paint work so its not all covered in primer
(Yes the panel beater did write "I wish my girl was this dirty" on my rear window )
Also bought some s15 stockies with rubber to run with my 5 stud conversion till i get the gram lights.

its so simple yet its still nice and fairly unique...ive never seen one in person...
if i might give you a small piece of advice, never prime all the way to the tape, it will leave lines in the finished paintwork in the worst case

Im not the one painting it haha, i dont know the first thing about it. it was primed and as you can see its been sanded back over the primer to.
I'll post up the results of the finished work once its all done.
yea no matter if you sand it or not, the reaction of the primer to the paint makes the paint "softer"

Jared has it down, its staying clean and oem. the only kit i would put on it was the oem factory aero option if i can every find one in good contition that wont cost me $800 for just the front bar lol.
Also really keen on making up a costom fab exhause system made to me specs. 3inch into a split twin 2 inch system that run side by side giving and extra inch of clearence that will then run into a bend that will have the hi flow cat mount up in a slight hollow in the body then bend back down and out into another twin section to a muffler and then about 1-2 feet of twin straight pipes out the back.
Leaving the exhaust still at a streetable noise level but looking phat and sitting tucked up nicley agains the body.

3 inch is a pretty large exhaust for a NA car.Lots of times cars will actually perform better with a 2.5" or 2.25" exhaust versus a 3" It alldepends on if you have the mods to justify 3 inch.

@Jared Its an sr20det with a gt28 attached so the turbo is a fair bit bigger than stock hence the full 3inch turbo back system.

My lower ball joints arrived today and a place up in queensland says they are able to supply me with s13 braided brakelines with an s15 fitting made by HEL, so good brand
Once i have all the parts ill be fitting it all going for a bit of a test fit on some 17x9's then putting and order in for my gram lights

Is it just for the sound or do Australians know something that the rest of the world doesn't?
when the BOV/BPV is that tight or non-functioning, the air surges back into the turbo backwards which makes the flutter sound as the blades slow down... blades slowing down = they need to spool back up which in turn = turbo lag. It can also cause shaft play because the turbine is constantly being pushed back and forth although I think most people are willing to live with that risk. You can have it flutter a little bit, helps to be sure that you won't have a boost leak but it should still open under a lot of pressure so that you don't cause more lag or prematurely wear the turbo.
That's it for my mechanical lesson of the day . My BPV was originally set up for evo boost levels. I had to open it up and remove a spring to keep it from surging. I might tighten it up a bit more tho cuz I almost never hear it surge at all anymore which means it may have loosened up.
Yeah, I'm running the stock 7psi through the stock bov built into the side mount. I will deffinatly go and after market on and have it open up under heavy pressure once I crank the boost up. That won't e until I have a front mount, new ecu, boost controller and bov in place.
But on the other hand, everyone knows that flutter adds 10hp

So got half way through the rear 5 stud, got one side finished off and got so angry with the other that we rage quit for the day haha.
Rear 5 stud is done was super easy once we knew what were were doing.
Also most of the way through the front now, just need to get my lower control arms back tmoz with new bushes in them and then i can piece it all back together and then set the brakes up
She is all done now
So happy that this is done, its not time for a test fit of some wheels

Car is all sorted out now, the boost/ performance under load issue is solved. Tunrs out one of my coil packs was a bit dogey and final shat itself the other day.
Full new set on the way.
Also made up my mind on getting a Hybrid FMIC kit and going to be running 550cc injectors with and upgrade to either a bosch 040 in tanks of an aeromotive stealth 340lph pump and a tomei adjustable fuel reg.

Personally I feel like an aggressive stance with some decent poke and not a lot of camber would look beast on this. It won't be too low and you would have some meat for tires so it would be different and still drivable.

Cheers guys. At the more low comments, I need to do some work in the front wheel wells before it physicly can go any lower. There is a fold of metal that at the current height during harsh cornering scores the tyre and I also ned ot relocate the looms from under the arch and run them through the gap between then guard and the chassis.

i rolled my shop teachers fenders the other day for him lol.he was scared of doing it. i have to mod his fender liners so when he lowers it a little he wont have issues.
Nothing wrong with wheel or tyre size, the rolling diameter is the same as stock... therefore the cops cant say s**t. The issue is like all s13's under both fenders you have the looms and a metal lip that both have to be sorted before going really low.
The metal lip will score the tyres if i go any low before getting it sorted and the looms need to be relocated for you end up ripping them apart.

My corolla has that lip too. I've gone through 2 sets of tires cause it's cut through.
Are the fender crumple zones near the lips? mine are right above it in the wheel well so I can't roll the fender to smooth it out.
Basicly you have the strut towers and the sort of I guess rails that run from the firewall out to the rad that the the fender bolts to. Anyways on the underside of them is the little lip that needs to be sorted.
No idea what its even there for, tbh it looks like its just unfinished haha.

Then of course the loom relocation, that bit looks straight forward.

It's hard to tell from that picture. it's a little blurry, but if it's the seam where the pieces of the frame come together at, you don't want to cut it off.

Max your coils. Do it like the FD bros and just run the harness on top of the upper fender wall and zip tie that s**t down so it doesn't go anywhere, hopefully you ripped out all the plastic s**t already. Don't worry about rubbing or anything, that just lets you know you're doing it right.
Also lip + skirts and valences would be awesome on your car, oem is sweet.

Ok, so I finally got around to cleaning the underside of the car to remove all the oil and grase build up. Also got to folding the metal ridge in the wheel well flat to make room for more low and installed the new horns they are stupidly loud.
