hai gais
Story is Dad was talking to this old guy and said somthing about selling his mums house and car, Dad perked up his ears and asked him about it, turned out to be a 1973 Hillman hunter that his mum owned from near new.
went around and had a look a week ago was in good nik then came back a week later to pick it up.
On we went home and the bloody thing overheated. Twice.
Took us an hour and a half to get home when it usually takes 15mins at most from where we got it from.
so yee dad and i picked up some radiator s**t yesterday and him and the neighbour spent today flushing it and stuff.
When taking the thermostat gasket thing ma jiggy the screw broke.
lucky next door neighbour is into Hillman and has a s**tload of spear parts laying around
We bolted it all up again then it started leaking thru the crappy cardboard gasket thingy we made lelelelel
so we un bolted it again then hooned off to repco in the blue bessie to get a
new gasket because the old one was squished to s**t.
thats what happened today, more funs going to happen tomorrow lelelelelel
Heres Billy and all his 40 yr old glory:
Well, not really a build thread as such but dad said i can put stickers on the rear window/put fuzzy dice in it ye buddy.
funny thing is this shiz was still the norm not too long ago in Iran
cool car
As they say on mighty car mods, "weld the diff for more skids"
Lol I seriously can see this with a turbo'd 13b doing skids and drifts and s**t
well, it is rwd ............
^not enough balls to hit the next summernats in it
u wot m8
i dont think dad would like me skidding this everywhere i go though
So today we sanded the thermostat majiggys so that there would be no gunk and the gasket sits flat on it. We fitted it all up, put some gasket concrete stuff in between the gasket and the thingy majoos so it wouldnt leak.
^the culprate
^All cemented and not leaking
^running, lol you can see the radiator fluid moving heheehehe
I got the cool job though, i got to clean the air intake
^i already cleaned the main shell in this pic, didnt thing of before and after pics at that point lel
^nice and clean shaft
^cleaned the lid, and the filter is dirty as hell so it will be getting changed for nice K&N one lee
^all bolted back up, nice and clean (cleanest thing in the engine bay yo)
you can see how dirty it was in first post
ye budy, so Billy isnt getting hot now, and we twisted the intake around so its point outwards not towards the exhaust like it was haha
EDIT: the shaft still looks dirty but o wel
if you don't buy more low, i'm disowning you.
its not that you are going to tell ur father you are a drifter herp
yer
but still
im joking, take care of it, you did a good job cleaning the engine
some time soon me and dad are gonna clean the engine bay
we're planning on taking it to car shows and stuff so needs to look its finest
so wtf is this? A holden? I still DONT UNDERSTAND ETTT.
NEEDS MOAR BRAP BRAAAAAAAAP BRAP BRAP BRAP BRAAAAAAP BRAP BRAP BRAP BRAAAAAP!
its a hillman
a chrysler hillman hunter
oh kO0r
Chrysler? Hillman was part of the Rootes group, a british company. As well as Hillman, they had Singer, Talbot, Sunbeam, Commer and Humber. I always wanted a Hillman Imp/Singer Chamois. Ace little competitor to the mini
Edit nvm, they were badge engineered under a crapload of other marques as well. Fun fact, most of them were assembled a few miles from where I live
This one was assemble and hour and half away from me
this one is a chrysler one though and theyve been under alot of big names haha
dad got some seat-covers for it as vinyl seats get abit hot in summer
the fam when out in it yesterday, lel and it (the mudgaurds) scraped down the driveway
not exactly hektic low scrape yo but close enough
lol hektik m8
Rootes group, mid 70s was pretty much bought out by chrysler, then in the 80s bought out by peugeot.
But damn, I want one! That colour is really nice too
tankies
its pretty well optioned too haha
updationstation
the engines had a bit fo work done to it with an attempt at getting rid of the over heating bug but alas they have failed
the mechanic place also waterblasted it because it was dirty
also, dad found these speechbubbles that he used to have on our old green holden when i was a toddler, they are made in 1989 lol
and obligatory lowness shot:
crappy phone pics
edit: forgot to mention that the mechanic said there may be a blockage in the radiator which will be causing it overheat.
and horns fixed as well, the thing on the end of the stick was melted lol
Get that radiator unclogged before you start warping your head from over heating it lol.
>Uses mudflap for lowness shot.
>Can still clearly see how high the undercarriage is in same picture.
No his hand is very big and nice too
the mudflaps scrape under hard cornering so
i am low
Get on my level!
Cute little car
lol mike wtf, zipties? haha
Yeah, the plastic under my car is so trashed, thats the only thing that would hold it on. It has so many holes ripped out of it now that I'm not even going to use it anymore tho
#cutsprings
mkid, stealing threads since ages ago
I posted a relevant picture, someone asked a question so I answered. Hop off mo-sukra
we might be selling this beast for around 5 times what we paid for it huehue
